This week, we're proud to spotlight our longtime client, Columbia Association in Columbia, Maryland.

Founded in 1967 as part of James Rouse's visionary plan for Columbia, Columbia Association is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the health, wellness, and quality of life of the approximately 100,000 people who call Columbia home.

Each year, our team takes on a large-scale turnover of furniture restoration work for Columbia Association. Furniture from their many facilities and community spaces makes its way to Criterion, where our team repairs, restores, refinishes, and gets those pieces ready to go back into service.

It's a big undertaking, but it's exactly the kind of work we love.

Rather than simply replacing furniture that's showing its age, we help Columbia Association extend the useful life of the furniture they already have, keeping it functional, refreshed, and ready for the thousands of people who enjoy Columbia's facilities and outdoor spaces.

For us, this partnership is about much more than the number of pieces that come through our doors. It's about knowing that the work our team performs helps support the spaces where people swim, play, exercise, gather, relax, and make memories.

That's something we're proud of.

This week, we're heading to Columbia, Maryland, to shine the spotlight on another valued member of the Criterion family — Columbia Country Club!

For many years, Criterion has had the pleasure of working with Columbia Country Club, helping keep their outdoor furniture looking its best and ready for the members and guests who enjoy this beautiful club year after year.

And Columbia Country Club has a pretty interesting story of its own!

🏌️ A few things you may not know about Columbia Country Club:

📍 The club was established in 1966, making it a long-standing part of the Columbia community.

⛳ The club's golf course was designed by renowned golf course architect George W. Cobb, whose work includes courses at several notable clubs and resorts throughout the country.

🌳 The property offers much more than golf, with amenities and activities designed around family, recreation, dining, and community, making it a gathering place for generations of members.

🏆 Like many of the great country clubs we have the privilege of serving, Columbia Country Club is a place where the details matter — from the course and clubhouse to the outdoor spaces where members gather and make memories.

That's where Criterion is proud to come in.

We are grateful for the years of trust and partnership Columbia Country Club has given us. Whether it's repairing, restoring, or refreshing their outdoor furniture, we love knowing that the work we do helps contribute to the experience their members enjoy.

🏆 CLIENT CORNER SPOTLIGHT | OAKMONT COUNTRY CLUB ⛳

When you’ve been doing business for decades, you get the opportunity to work with some pretty incredible places. Few are more iconic than our longtime client, Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Pennsylvania.

For decades, Criterion has had the privilege of serving Oakmont Country Club, helping care for and restore their outdoor furniture and supporting the team behind the scenes in maintaining one of the most historic properties in American golf.

And when we say historic, we mean it!

⛳ Oakmont Country Club was founded in 1903 and has hosted some of the biggest events in golf history. The club has welcomed the U.S. Open 10 times, more than any other course, and has also hosted the PGA Championship and other major national championships.

Oakmont has been the stage for some unforgettable moments in golf — from Jack Nicklaus' legendary 1962 U.S. Open victory, where he defeated Arnold Palmer in an 18-hole playoff, to Johnny Miller's incredible final-round 63 in the 1973 U.S. Open, one of the most famous rounds in major championship history.

And Oakmont's major-championship legacy isn't finished. The club continues to be a premier destination for championship golf, including the 2025 U.S. Open, which marked the 10th time the championship was played at Oakmont. 🏆

Being able to say that Criterion has been a trusted service partner to a property with that kind of history is something we're incredibly proud of.

To the Oakmont Country Club team, thank you for the many years of trust and for continuing to allow Criterion to play a small part in caring for such a legendary property.

For decades, we’ve had the opportunity to serve this beautiful Ocean City, Maryland property, working behind the scenes to help maintain and restore their outdoor furniture so it’s ready for the guests who come to enjoy the beach, the sunshine, and everything Ocean City has to offer.

Since the early 2000s, Criterion has had the privilege of working with this Ocean City, Maryland property, helping keep their outdoor furniture looking its best and ready for the countless guests who visit each year. Over the decades, we’ve built more than just a business relationship - we’ve built a connection rooted in trust, consistency, quality, and great people.

Today, we’re especially proud of our relationship with their General Manager, Natalie Vallieres. Natalie and her management team have been wonderful to work with, and we truly appreciate the trust they continue to place in Criterion. Relationships like this are exactly why we love what we do! ❤️
