🧱 COMPLETE FRONT STEP OVERHAUL — BEFORE & AFTER 🧱
Another project completed the right way by Stitely Masonry!
These front steps were in need of more than just a quick repair. We completed a full masonry overhaul, carefully addressing the loose and deteriorated brickwork while preserving the original character and appearance of the steps.
🔨 What we did:
* Removed and relayed loose brick where the existing masonry had shifted.
* Removed broken and damaged bricks throughout the steps.
* Replaced damaged brick with a carefully selected close-match brick, blending it into the existing work so seamlessly that the repairs are extremely difficult to distinguish from the original.
* Rebuilt and reset areas that had become loose over time.
* Reestablished solid, consistent masonry joints throughout the repaired areas.
* Took the time to properly align, level, and detail the brickwork rather than simply covering up the problem.
* Cleaned up the finished work to leave the customer with a refreshed and structurally sound entrance.
This is exactly what we mean when we say “Old fashioned & honest.” We don’t believe in shortcuts, patch jobs that won’t last, or doing just enough to get by. We take pride in our craft and do the job the right way.
❄️ WHY TAKE CARE OF IT BEFORE WINTER?
Winter can be especially hard on aging masonry. Water can work its way into small cracks, deteriorated joints, and loose brickwork. Once temperatures drop below freezing, that moisture can freeze, expand, and cause existing damage to become significantly worse.
What may be a manageable repair today can turn into more extensive brick replacement, structural movement, or rebuilding after another winter of freeze/thaw cycles.
