Grateful for the trust and kind feedback from the community 🤍

A recent neighbor shared:
“She’s so nice and efficient! Thank you again 😊”

Moments like this remind me why I do what I do. Whether it’s a quick consultation or full tax preparation, I focus on helping people feel clear, organized, and confident about their numbers—without the stress or guesswork.

Are you a smart and thrifty person managing taxes on your own? I know from my own journey doing my own taxes, I'm saving money, yet it sparked that inner doubt when things don't click. Back when I filed directly with the IRS or using TurboTax, I overlooked deductions and mixed-up basic line items, leaving me second-guessing, frustrating and wishing I'd had a 'live person' guide. If shame or guilt holds you back from asking for a hand (totally understandable—I've been there and felt it!), consider this: My supportive consultations tailored for locals with unique setups. We'll team up to spot missed opportunities and smooth out the process, often saving you far more than the cost. No condescension, just genuine help from someone who's walked in your shoes. DM me to chat—let's make this season easier together before you hit that 'submit' button.

Losing a loved one is incredibly painful—and dealing with taxes afterward can feel confusing and heavy. You don’t have to figure this out alone. When is the final tax return due? In simple terms: The final income return is due on the same date it would have been due if the person were still alive (April 15), There is no special deadline just because of the death. Grief is hard enough—taxes shouldn’t add more stress. If you’re unsure whether a final return is required or what applies to your situation, I’m here to help guide you with care and clarity.

Filing your taxes early isn’t about rushing—it’s about giving yourself options. When you file early, you have time to gather documents, ask questions, and understand your tax situation without last-minute stress. Waiting often leads to surprises that could have been avoided.

💬 What usually delays you from filing—missing documents, time, or confusion?

Sharing this with care, as it comes up more often than people realize.
I recently reviewed a return for a taxpayer whose spouse passed away over years ago. Her adult children no longer live with her, and she receives Social Security benefits. She had continued filing as a Qualifying Widow, even though that status had expired years earlier.
For reference, the IRS generally allows Qualifying Widow(er) status only if:
• The spouse passed away within the last two tax years
• The taxpayer did not remarry
• A dependent child lived with the taxpayer
• The taxpayer paid more than half the cost of maintaining the home
When these conditions no longer apply, the correct filing status is often Single. Even when a return is prepared by someone else, the IRS still holds the taxpayer responsible for what’s filed.

Filing status isn’t permanent—it can change as life changes.

Tax Tip: Filing status isn’t something you pick—it’s determined by your circumstances. Choosing the wrong one can delay refunds, trigger corrections, or lead to penalties, especially after life changes like marriage or divorce.

Tax filing has officially started!
Do you receive a W-2 or 1099?
That one form changes how your taxes work.

✔️ W-2 = employee, taxes withheld
✔️ 1099 = self-employed, no withholding, possible business deductions

Commission-based workers are often 1099 — but not always.
What business expenses can you deduct?

Questions? I offer free consultations and am now booking early filers.
Know someone who needs this? Comment or tag them.

⏳ 3 days until tax filing season officially begins: Monday, Jan. 26

If you’re self-employed, worked gigs, or had multiple income sources last year, now is a good time to check if your paperwork is in one place.

Many people wait until they’re stressed to organize—doing a little now can save time later.

If you have questions about what documents matter or what can wait, feel free to message me. Happy to point you in the right direction.
