I have been waiting to share some news and thought that January 1, of the new year, would be the perfect time!
Most of you know, that I have owned my own construction business since 1995. It has been a blessing, to have had the opportunity, to work with so many great customers over the years. Many who have felt like family. I want to thank each and every one you , that have allowed me to come into your homes. My business could not have been successful without you! You have blessed me and my family for almost 3 decades. I am forever grateful!
6 1/2 years ago, I partnered with a company, as a subcontractor for flooring and tiling. Over those years, I became one of their main subs and truly felt like part of the team. Though, I was just a sub, the camaraderie with the owners and employees was evident. As the years progressed, my partnership with the company grew from a few projects here and there, to full time as a sub. My days were long but the partnership was great.
At about the 3 year mark, my wife in casual conversation, almost flippantly, said, “ I wonder if they would ever offer you a job as an employee and would I even want to leave my own business behind?” She then said “ I think we should pray about it”. I told her we can but I don’t ever see that happening”. I wasn’t sure I even wanted to be an employee after years of being on my own. I also knew, there really wasn’t a position in the company that interested me.
Fast forward over the last 3.5 yrs. The amount of growth the company has seen, opened up new job opportunities. Which leads me to this post. A few months back I was approached by the owners, with an offer to come on board. Honestly, I was taken aback. Although, I would pray over the years the will of the Lord for my life, an opportunity to join the team seemed unlikely.
I am excited to announce that I have accepted a job with Village Home Stores, in Geneseo IL, as Field Superintendent. The rapid speed at which the company has grown, with no end to growth in sight, the owners knew it was time to bring someone on board to help navigate and streamline the daily operations.
This rapid growth, comes from the quality products & service, Village Home Stores has offered to their customers, over the years. And is in fact, one of the main reasons I accepted the job. I also saw the integrity, professionalism, and vision of the owners & knew this was the company, I could lock arms with and help lead them into the future. All while, offering the same quality workmanship without the sacrifice of growing pains.
I am proud to be a part of this amazing team and am excited to see what the future holds as we continue to grow and expand our services.
