Some people run toward the water.
On July 4, 2025, Chief Charles Holt and the Center Point Volunteer Fire Department were paged out at 3:37 in the morning. While the Guadalupe tore through the Hill Country, they spent the night pulling neighbors from the river β and when the sun came up, they found seven feet of water had gone through their own station. Everything inside was gone. Their trucks weren't, because their trucks were out saving people.
They didn't stop. That station became the heart of the search for weeks.
They rebuilt. And this July, one year later almost to the day, the river came for it again.
Chief Holt has led this department through two of the hardest years a volunteer crew could face, and he's done it while making sure his people are taken care of too β not just their gear, but their hearts. These are unpaid men and women with jobs and families who keep showing up for a town of about 2,000 that's leaned on them since 1954.
So when Lennox and The Bosworth Company got to choose who to serve through Feel the Love this year, the answer was easy.
Chief, thank you. Center Point VFD, thank you. It was our honor to put a new Lennox system in for Chief Holt and his wife Danielleβ a small thing next to what y'all have given this community.
Worth the call. Always. And some folks are worth a whole lot more than that.
