So it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything here, mainly because it’s been pretty busy with both work,and life in general. Another reason is that I have been in the process of transitioning into a different field of work!
A lot of people may not realize that I have a passion for working on vehicles and have been doing it since I was a teenager. So a few years ago I decided I was going to try and switch careers.
For the past two years I have been preparing my shop and acquiring tools and equipment (lift, tire machine and balancer, scanners,etc.) to have pretty much a full service type shop. I’ve also been busy educating myself further on newer cars with all of their newer technology which has been a little challenging but very interesting!

SO, the big question is… am I still doing woodworking?
YES, I am still doing woodworking and taking on new projects! In fact, now is the perfect time to schedule a project as my schedule is easing up just a little for the first time in a few years.
I do plan on being fully transitioned to automotive repair in a year and a half to two years and making woodworking a side job. This is a very hard, and kind of scary, thing for me to do, especially at my age, but I’ll never know unless I try. I feel it’s something I need to do.

The outdoor kitchen built from mahogany is finished! It is placed opposite of the bar front from the earlier fb post and is covered by a very unique ”tiki hut”.
Our client is extremely happy and I have to say, so am I.

I enjoy customers who challenge me a little bit.

16’ wide, 100% solid Mahogany bar front. On the other side is the swim up bar. The goal was to create a high end focal point for the bar, however,needed to be able to resist the elements. Thanks to some high quality exterior finishes, I think we have achieved our goals.
Within a few weeks there will be two matching 70” wide custom built cabinets for the outdoor kitchen area. More pics to come later!

Our bandsaw mill making a test cut. We’ll have the capacity to cut about a 42” diameter log!

So after 2 years of spare time and money our completely shop (home) built bandsaw sawmill has made its first test cuts today! I have a lot of little details to finish up but I have to say that I’m extremely happy with how it performed! Every test cut made came out perfect!
