Now that we’ve had the chance to miss him 😉, we want to take some time to show our appreciation and say congratulations to Steve Coates on his retirement!

Steve spent 45 years in the construction industry, and we are so thankful that he chose to spend his last nearly 12 years with us at Welch Tile. We are overwhelmed with joy and gratitude for his dedication over the years and we wish him nothing but the best as he moves on to this next chapter. Thank you, Steve! 👏🏼

Happy National Apprenticeship Week!

At Welch Tile, we are so proud of how our apprenticeship program has grown in its 20+ years, and in that time, we've had the pleasure of training so many talented tile craftsmen. Fun fact, our apprenticeship is not only Department of Labor certified, but our curriculum comes directly from the National Tile Contractors Association.

Our current group is one of the largest we've ever had and is full of hardworking and motivated individuals that we're so excited to see how they progress through this journey. Shoutout to Brent K, Isaac S, Lane A, Brandon B, Brandon P, Elijah L, Alex O, Zach V, Kyle R, Jerrid W, Dylan S, Jon S, Elijah J, and Carson W.

Also a big shoutout to our two most recent apprentice class graduates, Trent H and Dustin H, who not only graduated from our apprentice program, but passed their Ceramic Tile Education Foundation - CTEF CTI test.

Apprentices are the future of the trades and we couldn't be more proud to contribute to the future of tile!

On Friday 3/13, we held our annual Welch Tile Company Meeting! One of our favorite times of the year because we all get the privilege of being in the same room together.

It's the perfect time to reflect on the past year. To celebrate the projects completed, to acknowledge the "wins", and to do our best to recognize everyone in the room, because we know how important every single person is to our success.

We also welcomed two guest speakers, who we are thankful for and truly feel like are an extension of our team in the best way.

Welch Tile had a big year in 2025, and we look forward to what the rest of 2026 will bring. Thank you to all of those who follow along with our journey!

On March 6th, Welch Tile was lucky enough to able to host a Ceramic Tile Education Foundation - CTEF CTI Test! We hosted three test takers, two of the three being Welch’s very own. After a long day of hard work, all three test takers passed!🎉

We are proud to be part of an industry that continues to put effort into quality standards and craftsmanship. Thank you to CTEF for this opportunity and thank you to Virginia Tile Grand Rapids for donating the tile.

Finally, congratulations to two of Welch’s very own, Trent and Dustin for passing your test and becoming the next two CTI’s that we’re lucky to have here at Welch! Great job everyone!
