Last Friday, Blake Fogleman, of QSM, had the opportunity to attend the APWA North Shore Branch training and crawfish boil, hosted by St. Tammany Public Works and Utilities. And, … with more than 40 operators and engineers in the room, Blake made a presentation on “Aerated Lagoons Under Pressure: Upgrades to Meet Lower TSS & Nutrient Limits.”

He says, "We dug into the latest on lagoon-based wastewater treatment, and talked about how these systems can be upgraded to meet today’s stricter compliance standards for nutrients and TSS."

A special thanks to APWA for playing host to the event, and to the Parish President of St. Tammany for recognizing the importance of this program. The turnout and engagement made it clear: collaboration and education are key for building resilient, compliant communities.

Proud to support the Louisiana Engineering Society (LES) Bayou Chapter! 🚀

Some of QSM’s team — Blake, Phil, Chris, and Reid — recently joined forces with AvTek’s Bruce Philpy at the latest LES Bayou Chapter event. Bruce delivered an insightful presentation, “Modern Valve Technologies for Reliable Water and Wastewater Infrastructure,” spotlighting how innovative solutions like the AvTek DEX valve are raising the bar for reliability in our industry.

This event brought together local engineers, chapter leaders, and the LES state leadership for a great discussion on the latest standards in valve design and application. We’re especially proud that our project managers are not just experts in the field, but also committed to ongoing education and staying ahead of industry trends.

QSM sponsored both the meal and the presentation, and we’re excited to keep supporting the LES Bayou Chapter as it grows. Next up: we’ll be providing a tent and sponsoring a team at the annual LES Bayou Chapter Golf Tournament on June 8!

QSM is gearing up for the Mississippi Rural Water Association’s Annual Management & Technical Conference and Exhibition, happening May 28–29 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum & Convention Center in Biloxi. We’re thrilled to announce that Kyle C***z will be representing the QSM team at our exhibitor booth, joined by top-tier partners from AUMA and MPI.

This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with water professionals from across the state, explore the latest in water system technology, and see firsthand how QSM and our OEM partners are supporting rural water utilities.

We’re proud to support the City of New Orleans on a major component of the Gentilly Resilience District — the transformation of Willie Hall Playground in the heart of the St. Bernard neighborhood. QSM is supplying an ADS StormTech system for what will be the city’s largest underground stormwater detention project, designed to help protect families and homes from flooding.

When complete, this innovative system will sit beneath a brand new football field and track, creating a vibrant recreational space that doubles as critical flood protection for St. Bernard and nearby neighborhoods. It’s a true win-win for community resilience and quality of life.

We’re grateful to work alongside partners like ADS, Stantec, Cycle Construction, and KASS Brothers — and especially the City of New Orleans — to help turn this vision into reality.
