Since we were already installing a French drain along that side it makes sense to include a root barrier along the section that passes the banana tree in an effort to prevent it from spreading out easily.

The home on the right takes on all the rainwater runoff from the neighbor on the left. When the concrete decking was installed around the pool it was also installed between the two houses. The concrete has a slope on it to keep the rain water from flowing into the pool and instead flows to the side of the home on the right and floods the backyard. This is not a good situation and over time causes damage to the home and makes for an undesirable outdoor environment when the soil remains soggy and a mess for days. A French drain along the property line that separates these two homes is the solution. Once we remove the concrete and install the French drain it will be a game changer!

The existing drainage system was ineffective at draining the water and would contribute to water pooling at the back of the house. We replaced the underground drainage pipe and added a clean-out access point at the base of the downspout. This improvement is already making backyard life better and dry.
