Years ago, we provided a quote for this homeowner's original barndominium. We did not end up doing that first project, but we left a strong impression through our honesty, professionalism, and the way we approach our work.

Years later, that same homeowner called Rodriguez Concrete Construction back to complete the concrete for his barndominium addition and breezeway in the Kemp area.

We were proud to handle this project from dirt to finish. From site prep and forming to the final concrete pour, our team focused on the details that matter before the concrete is ever poured.

Not just the concrete, but where water collects, where it runs, and where it has nowhere to go around your home. Ice and cold temps tend to slow everything down, which makes drainage issues a lot easier to spot.

👉🏼 This is the perfect opportunity to take a look around your property and see if you notice any problem areas.

And as much as we’re warned and made weather aware, the one thing we can count on is not knowing the full extent of it until it’s already upon us.

🚧As concrete experts, we wanted to share a few simple tips to help you get through potential ice and snow while keeping damage to a minimum on your driveways, sidewalks, and patios.🚧

📌Avoid using salt or chemical deicers on concrete, as these can cause surface damage during freeze and thaw cycles.
📌If you need traction, use sand, plain non-clumping kitty litter, or gravel instead.
📌Try not to chip or pry ice off the surface. Metal shovels and sharp tools can leave damage behind.
📌Keep standing water off your concrete when possible, like from sprinklers, hoses, or runoff, since frozen water expands and can lead to cracking.
📌Slow and steady is best. We know ice has to come off so you can use your driveway or walkways, but going at it gently can help avoid damage.
