The Lead Foreman position will utilize their extensive knowledge and skill set related to finish carpentry to facilitate the various aspects of our locker installation processes. While other tasks are involved (cleaning, loading/unloading, etc.), this role is primarily concerned with the safe, efficient and accurate/quality installation of locker products at customer sites. To ensure the highest levels of client satisfaction, the Foreman will also verify all work is completed to specification, and is expected to regularly and professionally communicate the status of jobs (including issues, requests, etc.) with concerned stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (including, but not limited to the following)
- Utilize an array of hand tools to cut/shape/modify and install finished locker products, verifying dimensions are to specification
- Communicate the status of jobs, customer issues/requests, and other pertinent information to Summit ICS
- Effectively communicate Company policies/practices (change order process, etc.) while ensuring a positive experience for the customer
- Load/unload finished products and raw materials/tools from Company or third party trucks at job sites and help to stage items for installation
- Inspect finished goods for deficiencies and review job sites for issues
- Work safely & ensure coworkers are doing the same, per Summit ICS policy
- Consistently project a professional image on behalf of Summit ICS and courteously/helpfully interact with clients
- Thoroughly clean work areas of assigned jobs at the end of each day
- Maintain current knowledge of the finish carpentry field
- Other duties as assigned by Summit ICS
REQUIRED SKILLS/COMPETENCIES (including, but not limited to the following)
- The ability to read and interpret site/architecture/engineering schematics
- Proficiency with computers, smart phones, and tablets
- Extensive knowledge of and the ability to efficiently and safely utilize finish carpentry tools, materials, and techniques
- Professionalism and the ability to effectively interact with customers
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (including, but not limited to the following)
- The ability to stay seated in a Company truck, airplane, or other transportation medium for extended periods of time traveling to job sites
- Heavy lifting of products/materials/tools, both loading and unloading trucks
- The ability to safely and effectively use an array of finish carpentry tools related to the installation and maintenance of our millwork product lines
- The ability to safely & efficiently lift heavy objects up to 100 lbs
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years experience as a commercial millwork installer with a demonstrated record of efficiency and high quality craftsmanship
- OSHA 10 Min, OSHA 30 to be required within 60 days of doing 1st job
- Basic math and mechanical skills
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Your own working vehicle to be driven to and from the job site
- Your own set of basic woodworking tools
- A demonstrated track record of successful customer service interactions
- The ability/willingness to spend extended periods traveling/on the road (up to 2-3 weeks occasionally, typically just 3-4 days)
- Ability to lead a team from as small as a 3 man crew up to a 6 man crew
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequent travel required, including out of state
- Able to be away from home 2-3 days a week, and occasionally more than 7 days.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Will vary by client site, but in all cases will include exposure to building materials and saw dust created in product installation
- Exposure to the sounds of a variety of hand tools (saws, etc.)
PAY
- $25 per hour with possibility of bonus on a per job basis
- 100% expenses paid (hotel, airfare, food, gas) when more than 40 miles from home
- All job site materials 100% paid for by Summit ICS
For motivated individuals, there is room to grow with the company, and the ability to have your own crew after a trial period to be determined based on level of experience.
