🔌 Electrical Safety Alert! 🔌
See the comparison between a new receptacle and one from a home has a few years under its belt. At first glance, the older receptacle might just seem a bit worn — maybe a tad overheated. But take a closer look inside, and you’ll uncover the hidden dangers lurking beneath what seems like minor wear and tear. The older receptacle had completely burnt through the plastic and the screws holding wire are free floating. It's difficult to even recognize what you're looking at unless you see what it's supposed to look like. The wires have burnt back and are exposed in places inside the box.
🏠 Why does this matter to you?
Electrical issues often start small and unnoticed, but they can escalate into major hazards, putting your home and loved ones at risk. Never underestimate a discolored outlet, a loose fitting outlet where chords seem to fall out easily, any outlet that is warm to the touch without anything plugged into it, or any plastic burning smell near an electrical outlet. These could be early, or sometimes late, warning signs of something far more serious.
