Today, we celebrated the groundbreaking of Subconn's new facility in St. Paul, Nebraska! It was great to hear about Subconn's growth over the years and their continued commitment to rural Nebraska communities. We're excited to be part of this project with Scheele-Kayton Construction and help create a space that supports their continued growth for generations to come. Congratulations to the Subconn team! We can't wait to see this project come to life!

Yesterday, we celebrated the ribbon-cutting of the new Fillmore County Head Start in Geneva, Nebraska! After more than 25 years in a former church building, Blue Valley Community Action Partnership - BVCA explored renovation and new construction, ultimately determining that a new facility would be the more cost-effective solution.

One of the most rewarding parts of the celebration was hearing how much the Head Start team loves their new space! Throughout the design process, our team worked closely with them, introducing ideas and solutions they hadn't previously considered. Those conversations helped shape a facility that exceeded their expectations. Now that they're using the building, they shared that they wouldn't change a thing! Congratulations to Blue Valley Community Action and Fillmore County Head Start on your beautiful new facility!

Yesterday we had a great time visiting with students about Wilkins ADP, from internship and career opportunities to what it’s really like to be part of our team.

Attention University of Nebraska at Kearney Students! Our team will be at the UNK Career Fair talking internships and what it’s like to be part of the Wilkins team! Kristi will be joined by Joee, a former Wilkins intern and current UNK student, to have conversations with students and hear firsthand what the internship experience is really like.

Hannah and Kristi spent yesterday at Southeast Community College's Construction Day at the Milford Campus, connecting with students and introducing them to the many construction career paths involved in bringing projects to life. Having both experienced community college firsthand, it was especially rewarding to encourage students as they explore future opportunities in the construction industry. We're proud to support events that help students explore their interests, discover future career options, and learn more about the world of construction.

Last night, Bertrand Community School celebrated its past, present and future, as they honored the teachers and people who have shaped generations of students and then cut the ribbon on its newly renovated CTE shop.

What that new space represents goes well beyond the building itself. It gives students more opportunities to learn hands-on skills, explore the trades and prepare for careers. In a close-knit community like Bertrand, the connection between education, workforce and community is easy to see. The students learning in this shop today may very well be the people building, fixing, creating and keeping Bertrand moving tomorrow. Congratulations, Bertrand Community School!

“Public-private partnerships at work.” Traci Skalberg, Executive Director of the Central Community College Foundation and Alumni, used those words at Tuesday's ribbon cutting, and they perfectly describe the new Automotive Careers Training Center.

CCC worked alongside local industry partners to create a space that gives students room to learn with the technology they’ll encounter in the workforce. It’s an investment in education, but also in the skilled workforce and communities those students will become part of. Congratulations to Central Community College on your ribbon cutting!

When Dundy County Stratton Schools faced a childcare need impacting its staff and community, the answer came through collaboration. By bringing the school, community and design team together, a solution took shape that shares resources, makes smart use of the existing school campus and creates more opportunities for local families.

It’s a challenge we’re seeing in rural communities across Nebraska, and one our team has had the opportunity to help several communities work through.

Kali will join Dundy County Stratton Superintendent Alan Garey at the Thriving Children, Families, and Communities Conference to share their story during Building Together: Collaborative Efforts to Support Rural Communities.
