Fall Is Coming... But Texas Isn't Done With Summer Yet

September in Kaufman can be a little confusing for your HVAC system. Cool morning? Maybe. 90° by afternoon? This time of year, your AC may still be doing plenty of work, but those cooler stretches give you a good opportunity to pay attention to how your system is performing.

If you've noticed:
- Longer cooling cycles
- Higher-than-normal electric bills
- Rooms that aren't staying comfortable
- Strange noises or odors
- Your system starting and stopping frequently

Don't wait for the problem to get worse.

Absolute Air can make sure your system finishes cooling season strong and is ready for whatever Texas weather brings next.

Why is there water around my AC?

Your air conditioner doesn't just cool your home — it also removes moisture from the air. During a hot Texas summer, that can mean a LOT of condensation moving through your AC drain line.

If that drain becomes clogged, you might notice:

💧 Water around the indoor AC unit
💧 A full or overflowing drain pan
💧 Musty or damp odors
💧 Your AC suddenly shutting off
💧 Water stains near the unit or ceiling

Don't ignore it. A clogged condensate drain can eventually lead to water damage and may cause your system to stop cooling altogether.

If you spot water where it shouldn't be, Absolute Air can find the cause and get things flowing properly again.

Your AC usually gives you some warning before it quits completely.

After running through weeks of Texas summer heat, August is a good time to pay attention to changes in how your system sounds, feels and operates.

Watch for:

⚠️ Longer cooling cycles
⚠️ Weak airflow from the vents
⚠️ Unusual noises
⚠️ Warm or lukewarm air
⚠️ Frequent starting and stopping
⚠️ New or unusual odors

These symptoms don’t automatically mean you need a new AC system. Sometimes a relatively small problem caught early can prevent a much bigger repair later.

Something doesn't seem right? Give Absolute Air a call before it becomes an August AC emergency.

Does your house feel comfortable all morning...then struggle to stay cool around 3 or 4 in the afternoon?

Late-afternoon heat can expose problems that aren’t as noticeable earlier in the day.

If your AC consistently falls behind, possible causes include:

• Restricted airflow
• Dirty coils
• Ductwork issues
• Low refrigerant
• Insulation or air leakage
• An AC system that’s no longer performing like it should

Your home may warm up a little during the hottest part of a Texas afternoon, but it shouldn’t become uncomfortable every day.

If your AC is struggling to keep up, let Absolute Air take a look.

Your AC has been working overtime all summer. Your air filter probably has too.

By August, your cooling system has already pushed through weeks of Texas heat. A dirty air filter can restrict airflow and make your AC work even harder.

Take a minute today and check yours. If it looks dirty, replacing it can help:

- Improve airflow
- Reduce strain on your AC
- Improve indoor air quality
- Help your system cool more efficiently

And if you’ve changed the filter but your airflow still seems weak, there may be something else going on.

Absolute Air can help get to the bottom of it.

Summer storms in Texas can roll in fast ...and they can impact more than just your power.

After a strong storm, it’s a good idea to check your HVAC system for:

- Unusual noises
- Weak airflow
- System not turning on properly

Storm-related electrical issues and power surges can sometimes affect your AC system without obvious warning signs.

If something seems off after a storm, don’t wait to get it checked, call (972) 932-5373 or visit https://absoluteair.net/contact-us/.
