I had the honor as the CBC president to host last week’s Custom Builders Council luncheon, Building Smarter: Solving Permitting and Utility Challenges. It brought together builders, public partners, and industry leaders for an open conversation on some of the biggest challenges facing Houston projects today.

Representatives from CenterPoint Energy, Harris County Engineering, the City of Houston Permits and Planning, and the City of Bellaire joined a full room of builders and developers for direct Q&A and real discussion around permitting and utility coordination.

Events like this are a great way to stay connected, ask questions, and be part of the conversations moving the industry forward.

With all this rain lately, we're looking ahead to sunnier days spent in backyards like this one ☀️🌧️➡️☀️

This outdoor living project was part of a much larger remodel, and it's too good not to share.

We started by clearing the site, removing the old garage, and making room for something entirely new. The pool area got a major refresh with new decking, walkways, natural stone finishes, and a custom fire pit area built for slow evenings and good company 🔥🏊

We also expanded the garage and added a covered patio that connects everything together. Brick details, tongue-and-groove ceilings, updated lighting, and plenty of space to gather make this backyard feel like an extension of the home 🏡✨

And we're not done yet.

Swipe through this incredible transformation, starting with the primary bathroom, followed by the guest bathroom and kitchen.

For this homeowner, this project marked their first step toward making their home truly their own. Rather than changing everything, we focused on the spaces that mattered most.

The primary bathroom was completely redesigned by the amazing Arter Design Co. A new custom shower, updated tub area, refreshed vanity, and marble flooring completely changed the look and feel of the space. The guest bathroom received the same level of attention, creating a welcoming space for family and visitors alike. In the kitchen, refreshed surfaces, a new backsplash, upgraded fixtures, and a modern vent hood helped tie the heart of the home together.
