Fire Prevention Week runs October 4–10, and safe charging is the focus this year. It is a timely reminder for residents, maintenance teams and anyone using rechargeable devices.

NFPA recommends using the charger approved by the manufacturer, charging devices on a hard and flat surface, unplugging them when fully charged and stopping use if a battery becomes very hot, swells, leaks or smells unusual.

On the property side, repeatedly tripping breakers, warm or discolored outlets and damaged charging areas should be reviewed by a qualified electrical professional.

Share these reminders with your residents and staff.

Texas may still have warm afternoons in October, but cooler mornings can reveal HVAC issues that were easy to miss during summer.

Weak airflow, uneven temperatures, unusual sounds, and equipment that has been working harder than usual are all worth documenting.

A fall system check gives property teams a clearer picture of what needs attention before heating is used more regularly. It also creates time to schedule service before a comfort complaint turns into an urgent call.

Planning an HVAC visit? J National supports multifamily and commercial properties with heating and air-conditioning service.

Trust like this isn’t built overnight.

She first met Jay in 1991, when she was working as a regional manager. More than three decades later, she still describes him as “a miracle worker.”

For us, that says everything about the way Jay has built J National—by showing up, solving problems, and earning people’s trust through the work.

Not every part of the job happens with tools in hand.

Sometimes, it starts with taking a closer look at the property and documenting what’s happening on site.

J National team gathers information during a property visit.

The work starts with showing up, paying attention and understanding the site.

Before the repair comes the assessment.

A visible issue may only show part of what is happening. Creating access to the affected area allows the team to inspect the conditions more closely and plan the appropriate next step.

Here’s a real look at the hands-on work involved before a repair plan is made.
