Recent front yard transformation 🪨🌿

We kept the mature trees and built everything else around them. Cleared out the old plants, added limestone borders with boulder accents, and installed new plantings that can handle the heat, freezes, and still look good without a lot of upkeep. We also reworked the layout with a winding dry creek feature that splits the beds and doubles as a natural path.

Meet the Plant: Mystic Spires Salvia 💜🌿

In honor of World Bee Day 🐝, we’re spotlighting Mystic Spires Salvia. This heat-loving plant thrives in Houston’s warm climate and does best when planted from early spring through fall. It prefers full sun and, once established, is fairly drought-tolerant, making it a low-maintenance choice. With its long blooming season and excellent drainage needs, this plant attracts bees, butterflies, and even hummingbirds, all while being deer-resistant and reliable in our humidity.

Fresh front yard, reimagined 🌿

This landscape remodel was all about boosting curb appeal with a cleaner, more natural look. We cleared out old plantings, refreshed the soil, and reshaped the space to make room for a beautiful new red oak and updated plant selections. Some existing stone elements were reworked and enhanced with natural accents, while the layout was refined for better flow and visual interest.

Meet the Plant: Lantana

In honor of Earth Day 🌎🌱, we’re highlighting lantanas, one of our favorite choices for Texas landscapes because they thrive in the heat ☀️, require very little maintenance, and bring vibrant color from spring through fall while attracting pollinators like butterflies 🦋. We recommend planting them in spring so they can establish before the summer heat, making them a perfect, drought-tolerant option to brighten up your yard.

This yard went from patchy, struggling grass to a clean, thoughtfully designed landscape 🌿✨. We added two stone bordered flower beds with shade friendly shrubs, fresh sod in key areas, and decorative stone where grass wouldn’t thrive, creating a seamless, low maintenance look you’d never guess was once struggling.
