Project 9 of 20: Daily's Place Amphitheater and Flex Field, Jacksonville, FL

By day, it's a practice facility and a concert venue. By night, it's a landmark.

Daily's Place sits adjacent to EverBank Field in Jacksonville: a 94,000 sq ft indoor practice facility for the Jacksonville Jaguars on one side, a 6,000-capacity amphitheater on the other, sharing a single roof.

We engineered and installed the tensile membrane work across both. The flex field facade introduced laminated PTFE fiberglass panels to the US for the first time. The clear lamination maximizes daylight in a fully sealed enclosure. The amphitheater is wrapped in 67,000 sq ft of PTFE fiberglass suspended from trusses that peak at 70 feet, rated for winds up to 135 mph, and lit at night with integrated LEDs.

Project 8 of 20: Workday Corporate Campus Parking Structure, Pleasanton, CA

Gensler brought us in early, and that made all the difference.

The parking garage at Workday's corporate headquarters sits adjacent to I-580, visible to freeway traffic. The design needed to perform visually at that distance, manage airflow, control solar glare and heat, and cost less than metal mesh. Tensile fabric could do all of it, if the engineering was right.

We designed, engineered, fabricated, and installed custom FlexFacades fin panels and stretch panels in ventilated Type 1A PES, mounted on a system of lightweight structural steel and cables across 30,000 square feet. The woven profile reads as texture from the freeway and as deliberate detail up close.

The facade also contributed toward the project's overall LEED goals.

Project 7 of 20: Miami Midtown 8 Tower (Yard 8), Miami, FL

The best facade solution is sometimes also the most cost-effective one.

For the parking garage at Yard 8, a luxury apartment development in Miami Midtown, we designed, engineered, fabricated, and installed a FlexFacades Cladding Screen system across approximately 35,000 square feet. The tensile mesh, fabricated in multiple colors to execute Stantec's design, shields the structure from Miami's heat and direct sun while the 34% open construction eliminates the need for a mechanical venting system entirely.

The system saved the owner $1.3 million compared to painted perforated metal.

Performance, design, and budget in the same solution. That's value engineering done right.

Project 6 of 20: 9th + Colorado, Block 4, Denver, CO

When Gensler specified public art on the Block 4 parking garage at 9th + Colorado in Denver, the challenge wasn't the design. It was scale and airflow.

Artist Andrew Huffman's two paintings, Modulated 32 ( #1) and Modulated 32 ( #2), needed to be realized as permanent exterior panels without blocking the ventilation a parking structure requires. We worked with Gensler and Huffman directly to engineer the solution: FlexFacades Cladding Screens in Type 1A-Ventilated PES, 28% open, assembled from joined smaller panels into two large-format installations across the north and east facades.

Form and function: geometry, color, and airflow.

Project 5 of 20: Meadows Drive Parking Garage, Princeton University, Princeton, NJ

A curved facade on a tensile system? We can do that.

The barrel vault geometry ZGF Architects envisioned for this Princeton University parking garage pushed the limits of what PTFE fiberglass mesh will naturally hold. We provided preliminary engineering services to find the right material and construction method, then delivered on the form through meticulous detailing.

The result: a series of vertical barrel vaults in Type 2A PTFE fiberglass, 40% open, installed on our FF-CL + 3D Steel system. The material installs beige and bleaches to a brilliant white over time.

Winner: Award of Excellence, Advanced Textiles Association, 2025.

Project 4 of 20: Denver Union Station

Originally built in 1881, Denver Union Station needed more than a renovation. It needed a new ceiling for the sky. Structurflex designed, fabricated, and installed over 80,000 square feet of tensile membrane structure for the main train hall and passenger canopies, using PTFE coated fiberglass and ETFE to create a roof that filters sunlight without trapping heat.

The result looks weightless. The engineering behind it was anything but. Eight separate structures. A landmark historic site. A project team led by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM). Coordinating across architects, engineers, steel fabricators, and contractors in the same physical space at the same time, that is where tensile structures earn their keep.

Twenty years of projects like this one have reminded us that the best structures don't just shelter people.

As we enter our 20th year in the United States, we're celebrating with a look back at 20 projects that have shaped who we are.

Project 3 of 20: Rice University Cambridge Office Building Garage

The brief from KieranTimberlake was essentially: Make a seven-story parking garage disappear into an oak grove.

To achieve that, the PES tensile mesh screening was custom printed at 4x scale using a special UV ink and printing process that protects against fading. Flexfacades translated the campus tree canopy directly onto the facade. Trapezoidal panels mount flat against the building until they reach the treeline, where they begin to rotate away from the structure and become a sculpture.

The result does something rare in parking structure design. It earns its place on a campus that doesn't forgive buildings that don't belong. The structure ventilates naturally, reduces solar heat gain, and cuts light pollution. But the thing that makes it work is simpler than any of that: it looks like it grew there.

Project 2 of 20: Lawrence Station, Sunnyvale, CA

A parking garage adjacent to a transit station has two audiences: the commuters passing through, and the neighborhood that lives with it every day. The applied graphics on Lawrence Station speak to both. The exterior is quiet and considered, giving the structure a welcoming presence. The facade becomes a natural backdrop to the transit station itself, framing the ongoing arrivals and departures.

Project 1 of 20: Sam Houston State University, College of Osteopathic Medicine Parking Structure

This structure successfully performs two jobs:

By day, the FlexFacades Stretch Panel system wraps the parking garage in a pattern drawn from DNA sequencing. The garage serves the medical students at SHSU's College of Osteopathic Medicine, and the facade makes that connection explicit.

By night, the facade activates as a kinetic billboard, turning a parking structure into a landmark that announces the school to the surrounding campus and beyond.

50% open construction keeps air moving through the structure naturally.
