There's a lot happening on I-70 between Warrenton and Wentzville!

Across the Improve I-70 Warrenton to Wentzville project corridor, crews have been busy building Type C median barrier (pictured here!), trimming base rock, placing bridge decks, widening shoulders, restriping ramps, machine paving, and more as the project continues to take shape.

And another big milestone is just around the corner: the new Route 47 bridge in Warrenton is set to open soon! The bridge will reconnect the north and south sides of the city and includes a new pedestrian pathway, along with lighting, railing, and other aesthetic enhancements.

The Missouri Department of Transportation and design-build team will celebrate the new bridge this Monday, 8/17, with a ribbon cutting ceremony!

We're proud to share that Clarkson's Communications Director Kate Sweeten has been named one of the Kansas City Business Journal's 20 to Know in Construction!

As Clarkson's one-person communications team, Kate wears a lot of hats, from capturing our crews and projects through jobsite photography to coordinating community service efforts, hosting student jobsite tours and career outreach, and telling the stories of our people, projects, and impact across social media (hi, everyone! 👋) and beyond.

Great news, Warrensburg! The U.S. Route 50 Safety & Operational Improvements Project in Johnson County, Missouri, is complete, delivering important upgrades to help make this busy corridor safer and better equipped for current and future travel.

Improvements included new J-turns and intersection modifications designed to reduce conflict points and help prevent serious crashes, particularly right-angle crashes, along U.S. 50.

A big thank you to our crews, project partners, and everyone who helped bring this project across the finish line safely and successfully — and thank you to the Warrensburg community and traveling public for your patience throughout construction!

Last week, the Clarkson-Radmacher Joint Venture welcomed The Builders AGC to Clarkson's Crossroads office for its monthly Lunch & Learn.

MoDOT Kansas City Project Director James Pflum provided an inside look at the Improve I-70 Kansas City project, covering everything from the project's history and progress to date to planned improvements throughout the corridor and the scheduled 11-month closure in 2027.

We had a great turnout and even better questions and conversation throughout the presentation. Thanks to everyone who joined and to James for sharing his insight!

We love getting the chance to introduce the next generation of builders to everything our industry has to offer!

Over the weekend, Luke Miller (Carpentry Superintendent) represented Clarkson Construction for the second year in a row at the Big Brothers Big Sisters Kansas City's Careers in the Trades Networking Day, connecting one-on-one with more than dozen area high school students.

Luke shared his experience, answered questions, and offered advice about building a career in construction alongside professionals from a variety of skilled trades and companies.

Progress is rolling right along on the U.S. Route 71 bridge replacement over Bannister Road in Jackson County, Missouri!

Over the course of seven days, our paving crews placed more than 5,500 cubic yards of concrete through a combination of machine paving and hand pours, all while navigating limited truck access, maintaining traffic on U.S. 71, and adapting to four different paver and width changes along the way.

Projects like this are a reminder that successful construction isn't just about placing concrete — it's about planning, coordination, communication, and solving challenges as they come. Great work by the entire team for keeping this project moving forward safely and efficiently toward its anticipated completion later this year!

Over the weekend, Clarkson Construction Vice President Aaron Shimmel had the opportunity to participate in the Construction Institute of the American Society of Civil Engineers Student Days networking event, connecting with engineering students from colleges and universities across the country.

In addition to meeting with students, Aaron presented on the role of estimating in construction — why it matters, how it influences project success, and the critical role it plays in winning work.

Thank you to the Construction Institute of ASEC for the invitation to participate and for creating opportunities that connect students with industry professionals! We enjoyed meeting so many talented future engineers and construction professionals, and hope to see some of you on our project teams in the years ahead.

Our crews had a busy weekend on the Improve I-70 Kansas City project, successfully setting 15 steel girders for the new Cleveland Avenue Bridge over I-70.

The massive girders measured 90 to 135 feet long and weighed between 43,000 and 62,000 pounds each, making for an impressive weekend of teamwork, planning, and precision. Best of all, the work was completed ahead of schedule, getting I-70 back open to traffic earlier than expected!

Great work to everyone on the Clarkson-Radmacher Joint Venture team for another safe, successful milestone, and a big thanks to the traveling public for your patience through the weekend closure!
