On this day, North St. Francois County R-I School District celebrated the completion of district-wide improvements designed to create safer, more accessible, and better-performing schools for students and staff.
The work began with a collaborative long-range facility planning process that helped the District identify its most pressing needs and establish a clear list of priorities. In 2020, the Bonne Terre community demonstrated its support by passing Proposition S, a no-tax-increase bond that funded improvements across the District.
Incite Design Studio completed secure entrances at every school, along with administrative renovations, restroom improvements, acoustical upgrades, and district-wide electrical and kitchen equipment updates. Roofing and mechanical improvements addressed aging infrastructure, while ADA upgrades and new inclusive playgrounds created more accessible environments for students of all abilities.
Additional improvements enhanced the student experience beyond the classroom. The Middle School received auditorium and sound system renovations as well as a new elevator, while the High School auditorium benefited from acoustical and sound system upgrades. A replacement of the High School track base also improved the District’s athletic facilities. Together, these projects allowed North St. Francois County to address critical facility needs while making a lasting investment in its students, staff, and community.
