We’ve wrapped up National Safety Month with an emphasis on preventing slips, trips, and falls. Simple steps like keeping areas clear of clutter, wearing proper footwear, and maintaining situational awareness can keep us safe in the office, out in the field, and at home.

Our commitment to safety does not end when National Safety Month does. The VCC Safety Team is continually working to enhance our programs, policies, and processes to better protect our employees and crews. Our safety professionals are consistently present in the field, monitoring operations, evaluating performance, identifying opportunities for improvement, and providing support to our teams. As we close out National Safety Month, we look forward to continuing this work year-round and coming back next year even stronger and safer.

For Week 3 of National Safety Month, we are focusing on Promoting Holistic Worker Health — supporting not just physical safety, but also mental and emotional wellbeing.

At VCC, we believe our people deserve to feel healthy, happy, valued, and supported. Through communication, connection, and a positive work environment, we continue building a workplace where employees can feel proud of what they do and enjoy doing it.

Because safety is about more than the work. It’s about the people behind it.

At Vazquez, we’ve been investing in our city since our founding in 2008. This month, we’re seeing that investment pay off on the global stage as Kansas City hosts the FIFA World Cup.

From buildings and infrastructure to community spaces that help our city grow, we’re proud to have played a role in the progress that has helped catapult Kansas City onto the world stage.

World Cup events officially kicked off on June 11, with Mexico taking on South Africa in Mexico City. Team USA won their first match on June 12 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

Today marks the official kickoff of FIFA in KC, with the first Kansas City match taking place tonight, June 16, at 8:00 PM at Arrowhead Stadium as Argentina takes on Paraguay. A total of six games will be played in Kansas City from June 16 through July 11.

National Safety Month continues with Week 2, Staying Safe on the Roads.

At VCC, safety doesn’t stop at the jobsite. Whether we’re driving for work or heading home, safe driving practices help protect our team, our families, and our community every mile of the way.

Stay alert, buckle up, and make safety a priority every mile of the way.

Vazquez was proud to help bring the new Jazz District Parking Garage to life and celebrate its ribbon cutting alongside project partners, community leaders, and neighbors in Kansas City’s historic 18th & Vine Jazz District.
This project represents a major investment in one of Kansas City’s most important cultural destinations and marks another meaningful step in the continued Revive the Vine effort. By improving access to the district, the garage will support local businesses, community events, and the many residents and visitors who come to experience the music, history, and culture that make 18th & Vine so special.
Through our joint venture with Grayson Capital, Vazquez performed the full MEP package, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work on the garage. We’re grateful for our partnership with Grayson Capital, the City of Kansas City, and everyone involved in making this project a success.
Projects like this are exactly why we do what we do -- building infrastructure that reinvests in our communities, supports future growth, and honors the history and culture of our City.
Congratulations to all who helped to make this project a success. We’re excited to see the Jazz District Parking Garage serve the 18th & Vine community and its visitors for years to come.
