Just about every time we walk out the front door we hear a bombus or two buzzing on this Utah Sweetvetch. Plenty of leaf cutters and flies too.

We have it front and center in the crevice garden and it's perfect. It's currently providing shade for Dorr's Sage and various Penstemon seedlings but is also unexpectedly excellent at erosion control.

Utah Sweetpea or Few-flower Peavine (Lathyrus pauciflorus v. utahensis)

Found ths today in Wasatch County around 8,000 ft. in snowberry dominated aspen groves.

All L. pauciflorus of Utah will be var. utahensis and throughout the Wasatch Back the easiest way to distinguish it from L. lanszwertii and L. laetivirens is if it has more than 6 flowers per raceme. Otherwise a flora + a ruler are your best bet at an accurate ID

We've been inside the past couple of days hiding from the wildfire smoke. Which has been the only real downside of this Yellow Lake Fire.

The forest needs the burn, no structures have been destroyed last I checked AND I had some time to clean up and set the online store back to active.

Check it out and stay tuned! Lots of seeds that have been collected this year will be getting added daily.
