Training and Fundraising Update: Training is over, as we took on the 25th and final RATPOD ride last Saturday! It was a very ugly day with torrential rain and cold temps than neither of us wanted to be riding in. There were very few opportunities for pictures during the ride, but James got a couple (and a short video) at the top of our 8000’ mountian pass. That being said it was a great reminder how a group of people participating in an event like this can pull together and get through tough times with a smile. Despite the weather and how bad any of us were feeling on the ride there was a steady comment of encouragement from one stranger to the other, throughout the ride and an overwhelming level of support from the ride organizers and volunteers. To top it off the event raised a record of over $603,000 in support of Camp Make-a-Dream, and the efforts they put forward to support cancer patients here in MT. A big thank you to all the donors that helped raise funds this year, and the friends and family encouraging the effort along the way. Despite this being the last year for the RATPOD ride, I’ll be looking for other endurance type events to keep pushing myself back into shape and hopefully find some worthy alternative ventures to benefit along the way. Have a Blessed Day!
