Supporting Michigan's PFAS Cleanup Efforts - and Taking Our Expertise Nationwide!

As Michigan continues investing in PFAS remediation through the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE), Taplin Group is proud to be helping airports and fire departments address the challenges associated with PFAS-containing firefighting foam (AFFF).

With Michigan's recent announcement of $9 million in PFAS response grants for 19 airports, the importance of experienced, qualified contractors has never been greater.

📢*Taplin has successfully completed specialized ARFF decontamination projects at nine airports across four states (Michigan, Iowa, Wisconsin and Texas.)*🛬

These projects demonstrate Taplin's growing experience in helping airport fire departments transition away from legacy PFAS-containing firefighting foams through specialized ARFF truck decontamination services. Our process, which partners with various PFAS treatment technologies to meet specific client needs, provides reliable and economical solutions for treatment, handling and destruction of PFAS.

From right here in Michigan to airports across the country, Taplin is delivering solutions that support safer firefighting operations and environmental stewardship.

As additional grant funding becomes available, our team is prepared to help airports and municipalities put those resources to work.

Michigan is awarding grants to airports across the state to address PFAS pollution linked to firefighting foam.

This work helps protect public health and local water resources by tackling PFAS at the source—cleaning firefighting equipment, replacing contaminated gear, and strengthening protections for groundwater and stormwater. These steps help prevent PFAS from spreading beyond airport property and reduce long-term risks for nearby communities.
