For this project, our client was out of town often, so communication was mostly virtual. Integrity meant keeping our word ā€” giving updates, following through, and making sure the walls, outdoor shower, and sink were done right the first time.

When you walk by the Waverider RockWall at Kealakehe High School, it might just look like another structure, but for our family, itā€™s so much more. In 2009, Sunbeam Masonry, Inc. donated this wall to the school, and to us, it stands as a reminder of the journey and vision my parents, and .teaupa , have followed to build a lasting legacy.

Back in 1999, my parents felt a deep promptingā€”a spiritual nudge guiding them to take a leap of faith and move our family closer to Kailua-Kona. Part of this move was to be near my momā€™s mother after the passing of her husband. My parents sold everything they owned, including the towing company my father ran for years, to make this transition possible.

With courage, they trusted that this new path would provide for our family, even when they couldnā€™t see where it would lead. Drawing on the skills my father learned from his late father-in-law, they decided to return to the construction world, grounding our familyā€™s future in the art of masonry.

The name Sunbeam Masonry was inspired by my parentsā€™ six children. Known as the ā€œSunbeamsā€ at church, they wanted something that symbolized unity and carried us all into this new chapter. So in 2002, Sunbeam Masonry, LLC was born. Over the years, as our company grew and evolved, it became Sunbeam Masonry, Inc., with a mission to set the standard and build a bright future.

Years later, donating the Waverider RockWall to Kealakehe High was a way for us to give back to the school that shaped our family and a community that supported us. Every time I see that wall, Iā€™m reminded of the spirit that guided my parents, the sacrifices they made, and their commitment to family and legacy.

This wall is just one piece of Sunbeamā€™s story, and we look forward to sharing more of our journey with you as things unfold.

We built a rock wall a while back, and now we get to finish off another section. Nothing better than working with good folks who trust us enough to call us again.
