Proof that comfort is a production metric comes from an unlikely place: a dairy barn.

Philip Watson, Owner of Watson Land & Livestock in Hamilton, Ontario: "Refresh Fans provided an easy solution to keep our cows cool, happy and productive."

Heat stress is one of the costliest hidden problems in livestock operations. One HVLS fan moves up to 20 small fans' worth of air, runs under 45 dB, and makes a space feel 10–15Β°F cooler.

Cool, happy, productive. We'll let the herd judge.

Here's a fan that doesn't get enough love: the P730. πŸ’¨

It's our mid-size HVLS β€” 10 to 18 feet across β€” and it's perfect for those in-between spaces. You know the one: too big for a ceiling fan, too small to justify a 24-foot flagship.

It quietly pushes a huge column of air down to the floor (breeze that feels 10–15Β°F cooler, barely a whisper at under 45 dB), and in winter it recaptures heat trapped at the ceiling to cut heating costs by up to 20%.

Warehouses, gyms, manufacturing cells, commercial spaces β€” the P730 is stocked in the USA for quick delivery.

Pop quiz, facility friends πŸ‘‡

You've got a warehouse with 40-foot ceilings. Which fan do you hang β€” and how far down?

Wrong fan, wrong height: too small and you're stirring air nobody breathes; too big and you're paying for horsepower that does nothing.

Our air scientists' rules of thumb:
βœ… 10–16 ft ceilings β†’ 8–12 ft fans
βœ… 16–30 ft ceilings β†’ 12–20 ft fans, hung on a downrod so blades sit at the 20–28 ft sweet spot
βœ… 30 ft+ ceilings β†’ 20–24 ft fans
βœ… Blades at least 10 ft off the floor

And the one most folks miss: on tall ceilings, dropping the fan down to the 20–28 ft sweet spot on a downrod can boost the airflow people actually feel at the floor by 30–40%. Tall ceilings trap heat gradients up to 15Β°F β€” get the fan into the zone and the whole floor feels it.

Monday question for our facility folks πŸ‘‡

If you could fix ONE comfort complaint in your building this week, what would it be?

πŸ”₯ Hot spots that never cool down
πŸ˜Άβ€πŸŒ«οΈ Stale, stagnant air
βš”οΈ The never-ending thermostat wars
🀧 Dust and poor air quality

Tell us in the comments β€” and tell us which one is costing you the most. One big, slow HVLS fan takes on all four: it makes 20,000+ sq ft feel 10–15Β°F cooler, runs whisper-quiet under 45 dB, and cuts cooling costs by up to 30%.

Friday mood: the fans are spinning, the crew is cool, and nobody's fighting over the thermostat. πŸŒ€πŸ˜„

One big, slow HVLS fan keeps 20,000+ sq ft feeling 10–15Β°F cooler β€” quietly, under 45 dB β€” while the AC enjoys a well-earned break.

Have a cool weekend, everyone. Literally.

Five anodized-aluminum airfoils on a custom hub with redundant safety features, a whisper-quiet high-efficiency EC motor (under 45 dB β€” it practically disappears into the background hum of your facility), and IP65 dust-and-water resistance. Available from 10 to 24 feet for warehouses, manufacturing plants, and everything in between.

There's a quote on our site from Ted Archer at Sleegers Engineered Products in London, Ontario that says it better than any ad copy could:

"Based on the competition, Refresh Fans provided the greatest quality at the best value. Our employees are much cooler and comfortable which makes us very happy."

They shopped the competition first. They still picked us β€” and their crew noticed the difference on day one. That's really the whole business model: big, quiet fans that make the workday better.

One fan replaces up to 20 small ones, runs under 45 dB, and makes a hot floor feel 10–15Β°F cooler. Good for the people, good for the power bill.

Ever walk into a warehouse on a humid morning and the concrete floor is... wet? Not a leak β€” just condensation. The industry even has a name for it: sweaty slab syndrome. πŸ˜„

The fix is simpler than you'd think: a big, slow HVLS fan keeps air moving right down at floor level, so moisture never gets the chance to settle on the slab. Drier floors, fewer slip scares, and a crew that feels a whole lot cooler while they're at it.

If your floor sweats, we should talk. Free energy consultations at refreshfans.com β€” we'd be big fans of helping. πŸ˜‰

Here's a question we hear a lot: "Why can't I just buy 40 cheap fans?"

Because forty small fans give you forty problems β€” forty noisy motors, forty plugs, forty little pockets of airflow with dead zones everywhere in between. And none of them will touch the hot air sitting at the ceiling.

One 20-ft HVLS fan covers 20,000–25,000 sq ft on about 1 kW, replaces up to 20 small fans, and runs below 45 dB β€” barely noticeable over normal facility noise. One fan, one install, and airflow that actually reaches the floor where your crew works.

Slow and big beats fast and small, every time. Full comparison on the blog β€” link in the comments.

October's here, and here's a thought that might warm up a chilly warehouse floor: the hottest air in your building is probably pooled at the ceiling, doing absolutely nothing for anyone down below.

We call it the Ceiling Tax β€” heat you already paid for, parked overhead while your crew works in a cool pocket. A slow-spinning HVLS fan gently pushes that warm air back down where people actually are, and it can cut winter heating costs by up to 20%.

Simple physics. Real savings. Who else is already thinking about heating season?
