Good evening,
Just like everyone else Sexton Pump has had some hardships during the pandemic. I wanted to posts some pictures from a recent project we just completed.

Sexton Pump owes a bit of gratitude to Dylan Hardnack with Pete's Auto Service for making the repairs to our pump truck. Thank you Pete's Auto Service from myself and my customers. You are a valuable asset to the backcountry community.

A few projects Sexton Pump has been involved with the last couple of days.
The first picture is of a hole in a check valve causing the well pump to be removed. I installed this water system in 2005.
Picture #2 and #3 are some information on a chemical to help promote increased well yield. Prior to the treatment the well produced less than 1 GPM after the treatment the well produced 10.6 GPM. (Gallon Per Minute) A very successful outcome.
The third picture is of a project where the single phrase well pump motor failed so we changed the motor to a three phase and replaced the pump end due to its age (16 years old). The reason for changing the motor to three phrase is the starting amps for a three phrase motor is easier on a solar system. The customer was not able to run his water system on solar due to the single phrase motor six hundred feet in the well. Now the customer can.
Until next time be safe and happy.

Hello,
I want to Thank Brian Hodo for helping me change a 4" gate value and ni**le.
I know it sounds mundane but when the value has 5,000 gallons with 20 psi behind it can get interesting.
We had a 48" pipe wrench with an 8 ft. cheater pipe (3" galvanized pipe) attached to get the galvanized ni**le to turn. When we got it to turn we had it whipped. When the ni**le and value was removed a 4" stream of water started to drain the water storage tank. Within 40 seconds we had the new value installed and started to stop the water flow.
Successful replacement of the 4" value and ni**le under wet conditions. It is time to change clothes because we were soaked and get to my next stop. Once again Thank you Brian Hodo.
FYI.....If you need a great Father's Day gift Mercado Acres have great gifts ideas.

Hello,
I have not posted anything in quite a while. I have been a little preoccupied with the passing of my sister, my wife and myself have had our health issues. I am happy to report that my wife and I are doing great. Unfortunately my sister is in heaven.
That is not the reason for my post tonight. I have alot of customers ask me why I am a Goulds Dealer. I removed a well pump today that was installed in 1988. I t was a Goulds Pump. This well pump should be in a museum somewhere. I started in the water system repair business in 1991. Maybe I should be in a water system museum somewhere myself.
I tell my customers when I install a new Goulds well pump that they should start looking for a new water system specialist because when this Goulds pump fails I will be retired.
I appreciate my customers and I will do my best to keep your water flowing. I hope we can see each other at a school graduation or a little theater production.

Hello,
This year has been full of trials and tribulations.
My wife spent 83 days in the hospital for a medical procedure unrelated to Covid-19. My sister is fighting cancer and we are hoping for the best.
I would like to apologize to my customers that may have been disappointed in the response time from Sexton Pump during the last year. I have been distracted. The year of 2020 and 2021 has taught me that family should always come first.
To change the subject to water systems. The weather is changing and your water system plumbing should be wrapped to prevent it from freezing.
I also want to ask my customers to check the water level in the water storage tank. Our electric company decides to turn the power off every time the wind blows l. This is not great for the electric components in a water system.
With Christmas just a few weeks away. Please check on your water system so we can both enjoy the holiday season.
I promise the next post will be about water systems exclusively. I also want to extend my gratitude to the customer that over paid the invoice. The customer said to apply the overpayment to my sister's Go Fund Me account. If I wasn't a cowboy, (Or a man that wears a cowboy hat) I would have cried.
Thank you.

Hello,
It has been awhile since my last post on my company's Facebook.
As I sit in the shade looking at the well pump, drop pipe, and drop cable I just removed from the customer's well. I feel like I accomplished something today. I tried to remove the pump yesterday and my poor old pump truck just couldn't lift it. I had to call in the big crane. It took 8 tons worth of pulling power to remove the pump from the well. It was stuck. My customer is happy.

Hello,
I know it has been awhile since the last post. I apologize for the lack of activity on this page.
I have had an eventful month. I have included some pictures.
The first four pictures are of a well that has rejected its liner and well pump. If you are looking for an explanation....I am with you. I have been doing pump service for 28-29 years and this is a first.
The fifth picture is of a well has has roots in it. The roots are removed when the well pump is removed. Adding a little bleach every now and again will help keep roots from growing in your well.
The six picture is of a well production test being performed. Needless to say the water samples were not taken at the time of the production test.
The seventh picture is just a cool picture taken by a customers drone.
Thanks for being patient with this Sexton Pump page.

Hello,
It sure has been a busy September and October. The first set of pictures show Sexton Pump replacing a little pump for a water district. We had to break out the 48 and 36 inch pipe wrenches for this one.
The next set of pictures are of Sexton Pump fishing a well pump from the bottom of the well. The drop pipe coupling failed dropping the pump to the bottom of the well. This was Rusty Sexton"s first of many successful fishing jobs.
The last set of pictures are of Sexton Pump fishing a well from disappearing from sight. I told the customer that what they were describing couldn't happen. I stand corrected. The well casing was 12 inches above ground level. By the time I stopped by the job site the casing was 8 inches below ground level. We successfully added steel casing and reinforced the concrete seal to prevent the well from disappearing again.
Thank you for following Sexton Pump.

Hello,
I just want to update our customers on what Sexton Pump has been up to.
We removed well equipment that the well collapsed upon. We are still in the process of removing the material (volley ball size rocks) from above the well pump.
We removed a well pump from a 1100 ft. well. The pump was set at 1008 ft. We installed the pump to 1008 ft., only to find out the well is now only 1008 ft. deep. The pump wouldn't pump the sandy water so we had to raise the pump to 987 ft. It is working good now.
I believe the reason for the collapsing wells is directly related to the lack of water in these wells allowing them to slowly deteriorate and become sand producers. The static water levels have dropped from the original static water level when the wells were brand new.
We installed a solar powered water system with the submersible well pump producing 14 GPM with the pump set at 360 ft.
We are in the middle of helping a water district rehab their well because of excessive iron bacteria growth.
In conclusion the reason for this post is to remind well owners if something has changed in the performance of your water system a service call can save you a lot of money. Don't wait until you have an emergency, for two reasons your pump company will be busy and the cost of the repairs will be more expensive.
