If been training for a very long time. You hope what you trained the guys they put into action when the time comes. Today a group attended our confined space training and it made a huge impact on me. The Classroom portion the participants did a good job but after the skills training is what hit home for me. We have a 16x15 steel water tank that we use for confined space training and when the entrant make entry inside I have a couple of events that happen. Manufactured choas. Smoke started to blow from the opening and blue lights lite up. Very confusing moment. And of course being former army we train as we fight. I urge the crew members to go inside and get their fallen worker- that’s what not to do but instead everyone of them grabbed the life line and helped recover him. No hesitation. That was great to see but at the end of the training session they all gave each other a high five. They did care and it did mean something to them. It really made an impact on me, the team work this crew displayed. Good job!
