Here is a crawlspace we are encapsulating in shorewood. The encapsulation kit or v***r barrier we are installing is going to stop the musty smell coming from the soil under the rock. Newer homes have a concrete floor. The v***r barrier is a less expensive option to stop mold, and or smells from entering the living space above then crawl space. This particular house the smell was getting into the living space durning humid months. We will have more follow up pictures as we are still working on this job today.

We patched and injected some cracks in Joliet. I just thought I’d mention so everyone understands the foam you see coming out of the wall is part of the process it is not a mistake and or does not Affect the integrity of the job we are doing. The gray stuff on the surface of the wall is called epoxy. The epoxy helps the foam go all the way to the outside of the house. There are many reasons that the foam will break through the epoxy however this does not effect the repair. We start at the bottom of the wall with the injection and work our way to the top so to see foam on the floor and at the top of the wall is a good thing that shows the crack is completely full. When you have a painted wall or a chalky surface on the wall you will get sections where the polyurethane will break through the epoxy and come into the basement. The foam coming through the epoxy does
Not mean the crack is not fully injected and or fixed it is just part of the process. For a free evaluation of your basement give Eco Dry Basements a call the rainy season is here.

This is a Interior drain tile system we installed in April 2021. This homeowner only was getting water along the south and east wall. Due to this fact we only installed the drain tile on the south and east wall. This will defiantly take care of the water coming in those two wall. If In a couple years from now if this homeowner starts to get water on the other half of the basement all that would have to be done at that point is to add drain tile along those walls that were not done at this time. We already installed a sump Pump and pit on the south wall, with a 10foot pop up outside to get the discharged Water away from the house.

In New Lenox IL, we injected several cracks in a basement with polyurethane foam. Some of these cracks look like they have been repaired in the past. However a previous company was hired a couple years ago to repair these crack. This precious company only did the first step of the job and just applied epoxy over the crack on the inside surface of the basement wall and did not inject the cracks with epoxy or polyurethane. This method is a temporary fix just to get paid. So homeowners be aware when hiring someone to repair a leaky crack, we see this all the time. Over time the water that is still allowed to get in the crack eventually pushes the epoxy off the wall and allows water to enter into the basement once again. In my order to fix a crack permanently it needs to be injected with foam or epoxy. We did so and now all the cracks are guaranteed not to leak for the life of the structure.
