Earlier this spring, PT Ferro participated in the City of Lockport's Route 66 centennial celebration. The city paired corporate sponsors with local artists to design custom hand-painted car benches displayed throughout historic downtown Lockport this summer before being auctioned to benefit local arts and business.

We were paired with artist Liv LaPage . We sat down with her, shared some photos of our pets, and she built something that captures the spirit of the Mother Road while quietly telling our story at the same time.

If you find yourself on State Street this summer, stop by Krema Coffee and check out what she created!

We're proud to support the City of Lockport, Illinois, Government and completely impressed with what Liv's beautiful piece.

Shoring isn't optional. It's the standard.

Trench protection is a requirement on every underground job we run. What you're seeing here is a 24x6 foot box with 36-inch heavy duty spreaders going in on a watermain project. The excavator sets it, the crew works inside it, and nobody goes in the ground without it in place.

The work is important, but our number one priority is that our people get home to their families at the end of the day.

Throwback to McDonough Street in Joliet.

In 2004 we reconstructed a stretch of McDonough Street between Airport Road and Houbolt Road for the City of Joliet.

This was the first project we slip formed curb using our new Gomaco GT-3600.

Before that machine, we depended on subcontractors or hand pours to get curb done. That meant our schedule and project control wasn't fully ours.

Buying the GT-3600 changed that. It put production and consistency in our own hands.

It took a decision to get there. Not every company makes it.

One machine.

Our schedule. Our standard. Our work.

Asphalt doesn’t just show up on the job, in a truck. There’s a process behind every load.

Wheel loaders feeding the cold bins. Belts carrying aggregate into the drum. Heat, drying, and liquid AC getting introduced and blended. Mix moving up into the silos, then into the truck.

Every step matters when you run an asphalt plant.

Today is about those who didn't make it home.

The ones who gave everything in service to this country, and the families who carry that loss every day.

Memorial Day deserves more than a passing mention.

From everyone at P.T. Ferro Construction, we honor their memory.
