3 things to do before winter 🥶

3 Give it a winter feeding. It feeds the roots all winter so your lawn greens up faster in spring.

2 Cut it a little lower on your last mow, about 3 inches. Long grass can lay over and get moldy under the snow.

1 Get the leaves off. Wet leaves smother your grass and leave dead spots.

Found these in a lawn today 😬🐛

These are grubs. They eat the roots of your grass. That's why lawns get brown, spongy spots. Skunks and raccoons love to dig them up too.

The best time to stop grubs is before they hatch. Let's get your lawn protected for next year!

Lawn Tip Tuesday 🌱

A lot of soil in our area is sour. That makes it hard for grass to get the food it needs.

Lime helps fix that. It works slow, so fall is a great time for it.

Not every lawn needs lime. A soil test will tell you.

Leaves look nice on the tree. Not on your lawn. 🍂

A thick layer of leaves blocks sun and air. Leave them all winter and you get thin, bare spots next spring.

It also blocks your fall treatment. Fertilizer and seed can’t help your lawn if they never touch the ground.

Rake them, blow them, or mulch them with your mower. Just don’t let them sit.

Brown spots that won’t go away? Look under the grass!

These are grubs. They eat the roots of your lawn. The grass dies and you can pull it up like a rug.

Another sign: skunks and raccoons digging up your yard at night. They are searching for these grubs.

With the wide spread damage and utility work on going in the Westmont region, Beauty Lawn will not be resuming service in Westmont Region until the week of 9/14-9/20. We want to give our customers time to clear debris before we treat their lawns and we do not want to get in the way of utility workers and others preforming clean up services... We hope all made it through this storm safe and we hope you all recover quickly.
