Brutal day out on the south side of our second and last exterior of the year (days like today being one of the many reasons we don’t usually do exteriors)
Looks good though!

Clear coat on ✅

There is alot more strategy and methodology to do a door like this than many realize. I’ve been painting for over 20 years at this point- Russell (the guy in the video) was actually the first person besides my dad that I painted with ironically enough. It was summer vaca and I was maybe 13 years old.

This Door came out 🔥

Update on the door: carbon black wiping gel stain and woo wee does it look good.
Still needs to be sealed with UV protectant marine based exterior varnish.
Russell doing what he does best: delivering some of the best painting services in the state of Vermont.

Heres the next step in the process. This patch honestly doesn’t need much sanding at all, but the festool planex we use simply for dust control. This tool has adjustable vacuum strength- providing more suction when sanding ceilings so the tool itself does not feel so heavy.
