NJ is feeling like an oven this week… so here’s a throwback to one of our favorite jobsite traditions. 🥒☀️

Roofing in a heat wave isn’t just uncomfortable—it’s dangerous.

Water, electrolytes, shade, and plenty of breaks aren’t optional. Pickle juice can be a helpful addition because it’s loaded with sodium, one of the electrolytes your body loses through sweat. Some people even swear it helps reduce muscle cramps after long hours in the heat.

At the end of the day, nothing replaces proper hydration, taking breaks, and knowing when it’s time to step off the roof.

Stay hydrated. Stay safe. Look out for your crew. 💪☀️

to 2017.

I had a magnet on the truck, a shirt with my last name on it, and more ambition than money.

I remember being proud of this photo because it felt like the beginning of something. Back then, all I wanted was a chance , a truck, a logo, and a phone that rang.

Sometimes I look at this picture and wonder what this 27-year-old kid would think if he could see my life today.

The crews, the customers, the shop, the roofs we’ve completed, the setbacks we’ve survived, and the opportunities we’ve earned.

The truth is, he probably wouldn’t believe it.

Every step forward came from long days, early mornings, missed weekends, mistakes, lessons, and refusing to quit when things got hard.

Blood. Sweat. Dirt.

The days felt long, but the years moved fast.

Looking back, I’m proud of where I started and grateful for where I’m headed.

Keep showing up. Keep working. You never know what you’re building until you turn around and look back.

One of my favorite parts of working on historic Jersey City homes is finding the balance between preserving history and creating something homeowners can appreciate for years to come.

This cornice restoration is a great example. Our clients wanted to honor the original architecture while also making the home stand out. The bold color palette wasn't a decision taken lightly, but that's exactly what makes projects like this so rewarding.

When planning a restoration like this, there are a few important things to consider. The first is having the confidence to commit to a vision before seeing the finished product. The second is choosing a contractor with the diverse skill set these projects demand. Cornice restoration isn't just painting or carpentry—it often requires waterproofing expertise, structural framing, finish carpentry, custom millwork, and metal or copper fabrication working together as one system.

To help homeowners make those decisions confidently, our process begins with custom renderings and project planning before work starts. This allows clients to visualize the finished result, explore options, and make bold decisions with confidence.

Seeing a piece of Jersey City's architectural history brought back to life while adding a fresh perspective is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

What do you think of the transformation?

No one prepares you for the cost of building something off vision.
Off belief.
Off sacrifice.
Off lifestyle.

When what you build has a heartbeat, it moves different.
Looks different.
Feels different.
And that kind of thing always draws attention—good and bad.

No one tells you what it feels like when the same industry you believe in
shows you a handshake doesn’t hold the weight it used to.

A snake is still a snake—
even when it sheds its skin.

Growth changes appearance.
Not nature.

So when the industry sends you a change order,
don’t forget who you are.
Don’t forget what built you.

Because legacy can’t be copied.
Only carried.

Currently digging the shop out of 2 feet of snow.

In a city with tight access and limited parking, conditions like this impact setup and safety. Flexibility goes a long way.

Back in the office tomorrow.
Thanks for the patience.

Started thawing this frozen PVC drain…
Ice babies just kept coming out 😂🧊

Here’s the real issue:

Water expands when it freezes.
PVC doesn’t.

When that pipe fills and freezes solid, the expansion can crack the pipe or split the joints.

Now you’re not just dealing with ice…
You’re dealing with a broken drainage system.

Clear drains before winter does it for you
