This is what it’s all about. Kindness.

What a year we have had !!

Andrea was my very first recipient of a grant for a Tower Garden. What we have accomplished together and what she does for these kids can’t be quantified. Every student that goes through her door is blessed.

Today was my last visit to her classroom for the year. And what a surprise I received. Not only did these kids dedicate their first grade book to me, they gifted it to me! I cried. What an honor it is to see the kindness, selflessness and attitudes of gratitude from every one of them. Their smiles brought so much joy this year to my life.

Next year Andrea and I will take on new students, new programs, but Leafy will be a big part of it.

Thank you Rowes Growers for your gifts of friendship and this book. Honored to be a tiny part of your learning and growing experience! Now go tackle 2nd grade knowing you all so well prepared! And to their parents, I have enjoyed getting to know each and everyone one of them. Thank you for raising respectful and kind little humans!

Thank you to West Jackson Elementary School for having me as a community partner this year again.

GibbGrows is thankful to have written and secured this grant for my own school system after working so much in the rest of the state!

Jefferson Middle School now has two Tower Gardens and physical education equipment to expand health and physical activity.

Thanks to Kendal O'Lenick for partnering with me on this. It may have taken a lot longer but with persistence and we had to stay on top of the delays for our teachers, but WE DID IT!

Congrats to JMS. We look forward to partnering every year to bring more grants to deserving students!

Don’t knock it until you try it! Beet Salad!

Well you do have to like beets, but I’m so excited to have concocted this recipe and it turned out so good! Love experimenting in the kitchen!

I used kale, dill and candy cane chocolate cherry peppers from my own Tower Garden. Here’s the recipe!

⬇️

Creamy Beet Salad / The GibbGrows Version

4 Beets cooked or roasted
1/4c Mayo
2tbsp Red Wine Vinegar
1tbsp Dijon Mustard
1tsp of fresh horseradish
One small bunch of Kale
Fresh Dill
Fresh Green Peppers

S&P to taste

Chop it all and mix it together. That’s all.

Yumm.

Good Morning and Happy May everyone! Just wanted to send a reminder that it takes time to grow food but also to grow within yourself. Give yourself time and grace to do the things you set out to do. Just as you would give your plants time to grow, allow yourself to feel that same flow of gratitude for time and the process.

Have a great day!

GibbGrows wants to send a huge CONGRATULATIONS to Monica Geohagan Massei on winning a National AG in the Classroom Teacher of the Year award!

I was so lucky to be introduced to Monica by the amazing Staci Waters last year. Just recently, Monica and I worked a local grant to help create beautiful programs she has put together for the kids at Kennedy Elementary in Barrow Co.

Congratulations Monica! On all fronts. You are a visionary for AG programs and teachers alike. Your students are lucky to have you and as a community partner, I am lucky to get a chance to work with you! Cant wait to see your programs come to life!

Look how cool this is? These kids are using Tower-to-Table produce to top their pizzas. The FACS program at Jackson County High School is so fun I’d go back to school to take their classes. Curtis and Fowler are a dream team!

Brooke won three towers through a grant we wrote together. What a great and fast impact! These towers were ordered in February, put together in late Feb and they have been harvesting for a while now!
