Pool days are winding down for the year, so here's one last look at summer. ☀️

The Horner pool house was built for full days outside: a covered porch with a stone fireplace, a kitchen and dining room under a haint blue planked ceiling, and the pool right out front.

And with a fireplace on the porch, the season doesn't have to end when the pool closes. 🔥

Porch by the fire or one last swim? 👇

The concrete deck on the Trillium build is formed, poured, stamped, cleaned, and sealed! 👌

The day after the pour, crews stripped the perimeter forms and pressure washed away the excess stamping release. Once the concrete was dry, they applied a coat of sealer to the deck surface and exposed edges.

Not only does the sealer protect the finished concrete, but it also helps prevent dirt, mud, and foot traffic from other trades from staining the surface as construction continues.

A little extra attention to detail now goes a long way toward protecting the finished product. 💪

What’s your biggest construction pet peeve? 🤔

Let’s start with garage drains—do you think one in every bay is a must?

Take a closer look at the double-sided linear fireplace and Samsung Frame TV at our Cedar Creek build. 🧐

The Frame has become a favorite on our projects where the TV sits above the fireplace. Its matte screen cuts down on glare and displays artwork beautifully, helping it blend into the room alongside the stonework and mantel. 👌

At first glance, would you have guessed that’s a TV? 👀

A significant amount of work goes into a concrete deck before the first concrete truck ever arrives. From planning and engineering to footings, structural steel, rebar, and forming, every step matters.👌

Do you know how long we typically keep temporary shoring in place after pouring? 🤔

Take a closer look at how we anchor, shore, and form our concrete decks. 🧐

Some of it may look like overkill, but every detail serves a purpose—keeping our crews safe during construction and building something that will stand the test of time. 💪

Could the Old Lohman Farmhouse pull off a different color on the garage? 🤔

We put together this AI mockup with Diamond Kote’s Bordeaux siding on the garage and white on the rest of the house. With the galvanized roof and stone foundation, it’s an interesting combination.

Our vote is to keep it classic white. What’s yours—all white or a Bordeaux garage? 👇

It’s nice to be putting the finishing touches on the office. We may have a few more things planned around here 😮 but for now, we’re content. 😉

What do you think—should we have an open house?! 🤔

You can really see the exterior coming together on the Old Lohman Farmhouse. The barn vent, corrugated metal roof, Diamond Kote siding, stone foundation, and cellar entry each add character and charm. Corbels will replace those temporary supports and add another layer of detail! 😍
