This was a fun one! Our customer had these beautiful oak veneered doors in the entryway of their home. Over the years, the bottoms had begun to delaminate and there was a potential for rot. We caught it in time, and replaced everything that had weathered too severely, while trying to retain as much of the original material as possible.
We sourced the new 1/8” oak veneer, did all the repairs, and then sprayed two coats of Sherwin Williams satin black per the customers design. We also elected to install the brass kick plates on the bottom.
We had the customer’s front doors at our shop for a little over a week, and so we temporarily installed some plywood doors to keep the elements out.
