Summer is a great time to enjoy the outdoors. From BBQs with friends and family to swimming parties and more… BUT stinging insects like wasps, hornets, and yellow jackets can send people running indoors.

There are two ways to handle stinging insects, prevention and control.

Prevention:
• Keep shrubs trimmed, and ensure that branches do not touch your home.
• Inspect your window and door seals and screens for any cracks or openings.
• Keep your home in good condition and complete repairs as necessary, like replace missing or broken shingles or siding.

Control:
If you spot wasp or hornet nests on your property, it’s best to contact us. Our trained professionals know how to handle and remove these nests without disturbing them!

While ticks are *technically* around all year and present in virtually every U.S. state, they tend to cause the most trouble from April to September.

Here are a few ways to protect your family from ticks:
👍🏻Keep your lawn short!
👍🏻 If there’s room in your budget opt for fencing to keep deer and other carriers out of your yard.
👍🏻Wear light-colored clothing to help you see ticks more easily.
👍🏻 Pull long hair back or wear a hat.
👍🏻 Use an insect repellent when spending time in grassy areas or trails.
👍🏻 Check yourself and children as soon as you come inside.

If you find a tick attached to your skin, simply remove the tick as soon as possible. There are several tick removal devices on the market, but a plain set of fine-tipped tweezers works very well.
