PSA - Many homeowners don’t realize their insurance policy may cover non-named storm (“other perils”) damage with a deductible that’s often much lower than their hurricane deductible.
Have you noticed that when you go online to file a claim, the most prominent options are usually Flood or Hurricane? If your roof was damaged by a storm that wasn’t a named hurricane or tropical storm, you may need to request to file an “Other Perils” or “Non-Named Storm” claim instead.
Don’t assume every wind damage claim has to be filed as a hurricane claim. Review your policy and ask your insurance company which deductible applies to your specific loss.
If you have questions about storm damage or want a professional roof inspection, Wofford Roofing is here to help.
