Wofford Roofing was recently called in to finish another roofing contractor’s project after the original contractor severely underbid the job and then attempted to hit the homeowner with a massive change order halfway through construction.

Unfortunately, this is becoming more common in today’s market.

Some contractors intentionally bid jobs thousands below market value just to secure the contract. Once the roof is torn off and the homeowner feels trapped, the change orders start rolling in.

At Wofford Roofing, we believe in pricing projects honestly from the beginning — not baiting homeowners with unrealistic numbers.

A roof replacement is one of the largest investments you’ll make into your home. Choosing the cheapest bid can sometimes become the most expensive mistake.

When homeowners choose the cheapest roofing bid, they often end up paying for it later.

We get calls all the time for roof repairs on roofs that are only 1–2 years old. The first question I ask is:

“Where’s the roofer who installed it?”

The answer is usually the same:
“They’re out of business.”

A warranty only matters if the contractor is still around to honor it. Spend the extra $2,000–$3,000 on a reputable contractor with solid crews, proper insurance, and a company built to last.
