There is something to say about an old kitchen that turns out nicer than expected when remodeled! The one that you just walk into multiple times a day...without even being hungry. The one that makes you want to cook for your friends. That is the kitchen where you just sit and say, well done, Kitchen! You did great!

If you own an old house, you already know… the list is never actually finished.

You reglaze the windows.
Then you discover the cloth wiring.

You finally replace the galvanized pipes.
Then someone mentions the plaster.

And somewhere in between, you remember you still need a COA for the fence.

That’s just life with an old house.

They’re beautiful. They have character. They have history. And occasionally, they have a to-do list that makes you wonder what exactly you got yourself into.

The good news is, you don’t have to know how to fix all of it yourself.

There are people who understand old houses, know why they were built the way they were, and know that sometimes the answer isn’t to rip everything out and start over.

So keep the house. Keep the character. Keep adding things to the list.

And when the list gets a little ridiculous… there are people who can help.
