Slow drain today, backed-up sewer line next month — a lot of drain problems don't start as emergencies. They start as small warning signs that get ignored.

NOAA's 2026 outlook calls for a below-to-near-normal Atlantic hurricane season — but "near-normal" still means Jacksonville sits in the cone of risk right through the season's June 1–November 30 window, with September historically the busiest stretch.

Two five-minute checks now save a lot of headache later: make sure your water heater is properly strapped so it doesn't tip in high winds, and know exactly where your main water shutoff valve is (and confirm it actually turns). Neither costs you anything. Both matter a lot on the day you need them.
