The redevelopment of Jacksonville's Ritz Theatre began with a careful balance between preservation and new construction.

While restoring the original building proved impractical, the theatre's architecturally significant corner façade was preserved and became the foundation for a new design inspired by the building's original Egyptian Revival and Art Deco character. The completed 32,000 SF facility brings together a performing arts theatre, cultural museum, and educational spaces while respecting the history that made the Ritz an important landmark in the LaVilla neighborhood.

By preserving the building's defining architectural identity, the project continues to celebrate LaVilla's cultural legacy while serving today's community.
