Jonathan’s garden aka “The Carpenters Garden” is feeding us, and the little pantry which sits out front, the most AMAZING tomatoes. Jonathan says they are a type of tomatoes which are native to Florida and can take the heat.
We are also enjoying the longest beans I’ve ever seen, herbs, and waiting for sweet potatoes.
The idea was to supplement not only our diet with fresh, organic, parasite-free produce, but also supply the neighborhood around us as well.
We are, after-all, in a food desert here.
So once the day’s saws and shapers have stopped their whining, Jonathan inspects his creation and makes a plan for the next planting. He has a helper “Big Dave” who loves nothing more than playing with plants.
So next time you drop off some trim to be duplicated, or a sash to be repaired, ask Jonathan “are you giving out any good produce today?” You may just up end with a handful of footlong green beans.
