We're in the middle of hurricane season, and one thing we always tell homeowners is this: inspect your roof, even if it looks perfect.
Take photos and keep them on file in case an issue comes up later. Send copies to your insurance company so you have documentation proving there was no damage before the storm.
Don't overlook the entire building envelope either; roof, waterproofing, roof coatings, stucco, and the rest of the exterior. When those maintenance issues go unaddressed, they can lead to significant damage behind the walls.
The most expensive case we've seen required a full exterior tear-off and rebuild a $330,000 job. With the proper documentation, you can get that covered by insurance!
