Thanks to David Markham of Fort Wayne, Indiana for continuing to choose VIRTUE! He brought in another drum from his collection (Outlaw 14”x6.5 segmented Purpleheart & Maple snare drum with fractal burns) to have the edges trued & reshaped (larger outer roundover with smooth apex), snare beds improved (wider and not so crazy deep), along with swapping the original Dunnett R7 throw-off for an INDe Mini (a standard SB1 wouldn’t work with the existing layout). Also repaired a significant bit of tear-out in a shell joint and finished the raw interior of the drum.

When this drum came in it was difficult to tune and very limited in its tonal character. Now it sounds great across a wide range of tensions, is responsive to the player’s performance, tunes easily, and holds that tension very well. Truly appreciate your continued trust and support, Dave, and hope you enjoy playing your newly modified drum!

Had the privilege of doing some rivet layout/drilling and light tweaks on a lovely collection of cymbals for Zach Strong of Toledo, including an amazing 18” Spizzichino Ka that he wanted one brass rivet added and the rough/sharp edges of prior crack repair cleaned-up and smoothed-out, enlarging the center hole on a Zildjian trans-stamp, three rivets installed in a 22” Sabian Raw Ride, and a single rivet added to a Cymbal Craftsman Royal 18” crash.
