We're offering a new service to address a very common issue, and the fall and winter seasons are the perfect time to have it done!
**Soil Decompaction**
It should be no surprise that a tree's health is directly tied to the health of its root system.
When those roots are in dense, compacted soil, they struggle.
Compaction limits both water and oxygen infiltration, which are absolutely essential to trees, and roots struggle to "dig" through tough soil to boot.
Fianlly, our residential soils are often lacking in organic material - instead of a vibrant ecosystem of organisms including benificial bacteria and fungi, our trees often live in the equivalent of a desert.
What we are offering is multi-pronged approach to addressing these issues:
1) Air Spading
-Loosen up that soil in the tree's critical root zone with compressed air.
2) Soil Amendment
-Backfill with the addition of organic material in the forms of compost, biochar, and humic acids.
3) Mulch bed
-Finish with a proper 3 inch deep mulch bed within the critical root zone. This limits water evaporation, insulates and protects the roots, and helps maintain long term soil health.
