Schaumburg Park District has transformed the Visitor Center Heritage Farm into a revitalized historic destination, blending preservation, expanded community spaces, and sustainable design for future generations. 🌾✨
Supported through Museum, OSLAD, and PARC grants, the project expands and reorganizes the exhibit and program spaces, introduces a 50-person classroom with dedicated camp storage, modernizes restrooms with an exterior-accessible family facility, and relocates the kitchen to better support daily use and special events.
Expanded office and storage space, a new picnic shelter, and covered entry porches improve operations and elevate the guest experience. Integrated solar panels and a geothermal system highlight the District’s commitment to sustainability and responsible long-term stewardship.
