Marilyn had been unhappy with her fireplace for years, but its location close to a corner made a traditional mantel an awkward fit. Our carpenter built a custom, Shaker-inspired mantel with proportions tailored to the space, paired with new tile for a clean, finished look.

With the TV relocated to the adjacent room, the space above the mantel is now ready for artwork, and a little more Marilyn!

Thoughtful details. Personal craftsmanship. Thatā€™s why weā€™re:

Sometimes, making a home work better starts with rethinking everyday routines.

For these longtime Capitol Hill homeowners, getting into the shower and soaking tub had become increasingly difficult as mobility needs changed. Together, we created a bathing area with a barrier-free shower and a walk-in tub whose outward-swinging door was chosen for easier access, and with a possible future wheelchair transfer in mind.

"Highly recommend Shirey Home Pro if you need a reliable team that can handle a wide range of work and gets it done well!

I had a 40+ item punch list that spanned plumbing, painting, carpentry, door repairs, and fixture installations ā€” the kind of project that doesn't fit neatly into one specialty.

Sarah, Project Coordinator, got me scheduled quickly during a busy season and was responsive to every question.

Edgar, Lead Carpenter, was outstanding ā€” knowledgeable, skilled, and efficient. He diagnosed and fixed a malfunctioning shower fixture, replaced toilet valves, installed a kitchen faucet, repainted garage doors and railings, repaired drywall and shiplap, adjusted doors, added weatherstripping, and several other items. The billing is transparent (time and materials) and I always knew what I was paying for.

Edgar and Sarah are a pleasure to work with!"

Kitchen Remodels Are a Puzzle! šŸ§©Floors šŸ§©Cabinets šŸ§©Appliances.
In a kitchen remodel, the pieces have to fit.

Things like floor height can affect cabinet placement and even whether appliances can be easily removed later! These details may seem small during planning, but getting them wrong can create surprisingly expensive problems later.

A successful remodel isnā€™t just about choosing the right materials. Itā€™s about putting them together in the right sequence. Let us help you solve the puzzle.

šŸ”ØRenovating an older home? āš ļø BEFORE the demolition starts, thereā€™s an important step that shouldnā€™t be skipped: testing!

Older homes may contain lead paint or asbestos-containing materials. Identifying potential hazards before demolition helps protect your family and the people working in your home, while also preventing unexpected complications once the project is underway.

Before you tear it out, know what youā€™re dealing with!
