I like to tell our landscape clients to be patient the first year with the plants as they grow in.
I also share this little rhyme with them to remember about their newly installed plants. The first year they sleep, the second year they creep, the third year they leap.”
Meaning- it all takes a little time, patience and great care before the landscape beds are looking fully mature.
I have to say though- the butterfly bushes and milkweed we planted at the Parklet in downtown Greensburg have skipped the sleeping and creeping stages and went right to leaping.
I was pleasantly surprised by their size and all the pollinators they are attracting when I stoped in to maintenance them last week.
If you are local please stop by, support the local businesses on that street and enjoy the space before the butterfly season comes to an end. 🦋
