While Kevin is busy working to wrap up a big hardscape project- I’m busy prepping to kick off a big landscaping install next week.

Many of the plants will be picked up from our plant brokers,but I also have a few of the specialty ones already staged at my own home since we had to order them in.

I’ve made it my mission to make really fun and unique plant material selections for our clients when I have been doing their landscape designs. Although this also means sourcing everything is a little more of a challenge to find these unique blooms, but one I like taking on.

These roses are a blast to watch bloom. They begin as more of a yellow rose, then they get a light pink hue to them followed by a bright pink color.

I snapped a picture the last three nights I’ve been watering them and I can’t get over how fun they are.

Really looking forward to this next install. We will have so many show stopper plants to share with you all soon as the install kicks off.

This past week, I took our kids to the beach for a summer kickoff trip while Kev stayed back putting in some crazy long hours on his current project.

To my surprise- the area where I was using the beach transformed over night into a full construction site to work on erosion issues from past hurricanes.

The process was wildly entertaining to watch all day and while some might say it was a bother to be trying to relax beside it- it sure kept our attention.

The best part- the day after they finished, the ocean was washing up massive sized sharks teeth, full sized in tact clam shells and conch shells everywhere we turned. I’ve never seen so many shell 🐚 treasures in my life.

Earlier this season, we got a call from the kindest elderly gentleman from a nearby PT residence.

He was looking for a quote on a few projects around his home, but one thing that he needed the most was a handrail installed to keep him safe on his stairs in the front of his house.

We decided to move Mr. Lou’s project to the front of the line and take care of it one evening after work rather than having him wait for one of our fall openings.

During the initial visit, I couldn’t help but notice the landscaping around his home. It was clear that someone had poured a lot of love and care into those gardens over the years. Mr. Lou shared that his wife had passed away, and I could tell she had been an incredible gardener.

Last week while the boys got to work building the handrail, I decided to do a little spring cleanup in the front flower beds as well.

While I was weeding, I spent the time admiring all of her beautiful plants and even arranged a few flowers for Mr. Lou to enjoy inside his house.

We’ve been fortunate to work with some amazing clients this season, but Mr. Lou may just be one of my favorites. He was genuinely so grateful for the help and we were glad to make a new friend.

This outdoor living space is looking so much bigger already.

Base material is prepped, the wall is installed for the raised patio and the pavers are scheduled to arrive today.

Running right on schedule.

The first few days of us being onsite are often demo days if the homeowner already had an existing outdoor living space.

These homeowners have opted to end their concrete “era” and transform the space with a large paver patio that will extend under the deck. We are also installing a retaining wall along the edge of it. The space is about to get a huge glow up.

In order to do all of that, we first have to get all the old materials out. We did a lot of concrete cutting yesterday and also demoed out the current deck staircase.

These slabs of concrete served their purpose for a lot of years for this family, but it’s time to say good riddance and haul them all out for the homeowners.

This family is about to get a brand new outdoor living space and we are on an important deadline with them.

Build it all before the June 13th graduation party that they have planned for their soon to be Norwin grad. 👩‍🎓

Yesterday we dropped the reel featuring our Parklet transformation we did in downtown Greensburg.

When the opportunity to take on this Parklet transformation project in downtown Greensburg came up-we really were excited to get to do it. We knew how much of an impact the changes we proposed would have for those in the community who get to enjoy the space.

This reel shares the quick before and afters, but it’s also fun to share the full scope.

✅We built three different structures some to hold planters and some for trellising.
✅Designed a landscape plan around the beautiful existing mural with the goal of creating a pollinator friendly space.
✅Reset the entrance pillars to make them level again.
✅Repainted the food pantry and created a new spot for it.
✅Repainted all of the brick and concrete to match the neighboring businesses that it’s attached to.
✅ Brought beauty and elements of nature back to the Parklet.

We also made an awful lot of new friends over the course of our time working downtown. 🫶🏻 There were lots of local passerby who would stop in to watch the project unfold. We also really appreciated the local police and parking attendants who looked out for us while we were working in the space. It’s tough to have all of that equipment in such a tight space but they helped make it happen for us.

Please take some time to patronize the local businesses downtown and stop in at the Parklet to see the transformation in person. It will get more and more beautiful as the plants take off this summer.
