Stop pouring THIS down your kitchen sink. 🛑

A few small habits can keep your drain flowing:
✅ Toss cooled grease and oil in the trash, not the sink
✅ Scrape plates before rinsing
✅ Run cold water when using the disposal
✅ Use a sink strainer
✅ Keep coffee grounds and stringy scraps out of the drain

Pro tip: when you do have a clog, skip the chemical drain cleaners. Your pipes will thank you.

Your sink isn’t “just being slow.” It’s trying to tell you something. 🚰

Most kitchen sink clogs come from the same few culprits:
🍳 Grease and cooking oil that cool and stick to the pipes
🍝 Starchy scraps like pasta and rice that swell up
☕ Coffee grounds that settle into the gunk
🧼 Soap that turns into sticky buildup

We wrote a blog post on our website that gives you the ins and outs of sink clogs. Check it out here: bit.ly/4yIqEBN

A boil water advisory can leave you wondering what you should and shouldn't use from the tap. 💧

A whole-home water filtration system helps improve your home's water quality every day by reducing things like sediment, chlorine, and other impurities.

During a boil water advisory, though, filtration doesn't replace the instructions from your local water utility. If you're told to boil your water or use bottled water for drinking and cooking, follow those instructions.

The best time to think about your home's water quality is before an advisory happens. A whole-home filtration system is one option for keeping cleaner, better-tasting water flowing throughout your home.

If you have questions about water filtration or your home's plumbing, Meetze Plumbing is here to help.

All week long, we’ve been talking about a dripping bathtub faucet and what might be happening behind that annoying little drip.

The bigger point is simple: don’t ignore a leak because it looks small.

A dripping tub faucet is one thing. A leaky shower valve, sink faucet, toilet, water line, or pipe deserves attention, too.

Sometimes the repair is straightforward. Sometimes the leak is a sign of a larger problem. The sooner you find out what’s going on, the more options you have.

So if something in your home is dripping, leaking, or staying wet when it shouldn’t, give Meetze Plumbing a call.

We handle leaks throughout your home, from the bathroom sink to the shower and everything in between. Schedule your leak repair today and don't forget we don't charge extra for weekend or emergency visits!

Not every leaky faucet needs an emergency visit. But some leaks deserve more attention than others.

If it’s a slow drip from the tub spout and everything around the faucet stays dry, you probably have time to schedule a repair.

Start paying closer attention if the leak is getting worse, the handle is harder to turn, or you’re finding water around the handle or trim.

And if you notice dampness on the wall or floor, discoloration on the ceiling below, or a musty smell, don’t put it off.

The faucet is telling you something has changed. Finding the cause early often means a simpler repair.

Most bathtub faucet leaks start small.

You notice a few drops coming from the spout after you turn the water off. No big deal, right? Sometimes it stays that way. Other times, the leak gets worse and you start noticing water in places it shouldn’t be.

Look around the faucet and the area where it meets the wall. Check the floor around the tub, too. If you have a bathroom on an upper floor, pay attention to the ceiling underneath it. Those areas should stay dry.

Once water starts getting behind the trim or into the wall, you’re dealing with more than an annoying faucet drip.

A little water on the wrong side of a wall is enough to create a much bigger headache. Catching the leak while the problem is still limited to the faucet gives you a much better shot at keeping the repair simple.

Ever wonder why your bathtub faucet keeps dripping even after you turn it off?

The answer usually comes down to a worn part inside the faucet. Depending on the type of fixture, it might be a washer, seal, cartridge, or another valve component.

When those parts wear out, they stop creating a tight seal. Water keeps getting through, even though the handle is in the off position.

It’s easy to put off because the faucet still works. You still have hot water. The shower still runs. Everything seems fine aside from the annoying drip. But the drip is a sign something inside the faucet needs attention.

If yours has been dripping for a while, it’s worth having someone take a look before a small faucet repair turns into a bigger plumbing job.

A dripping bathtub faucet is easy to ignore.

You hear it. You close the bathroom door. You tell yourself you’ll deal with it later. But a faucet that keeps dripping is usually telling you something is wrong inside the valve.

A worn seal, washer, or cartridge might be allowing water to pass through when the faucet is supposed to be off.

And the longer you leave it, the more opportunity the problem has to get worse.

If your tub faucet has been dripping and you've been ignoring it, it's time to call your personal plumber - Meetze Plumbing - to fix the problem.
