Building Better Together

Lone Tree Community School District, City Construction, and Shive-Hattery are excited to collaborate on the Lone Tree HVAC/geothermal replacement project.

The District began working with Shive-Hattery in August 2023 to study our HVAC systems and explore potential solutions. In December 2025, the Board began learning about Construction Managers. Over more than a dozen meetings, the Board continued to learn about the Construction Manager process, developed a selection process, and concluded its work on October 7, 2026, with the selection of City Construction as the district’s Construction Manager at Risk.

City Construction brings extensive K-12 and HVAC/geothermal experience, with more than 50 K-12 projects, including 10 recent HVAC/geothermal projects in the K-12 space.

Together, we’re ready to bring this project to life and create a better space for Lone Tree students, staff, and community.

Brent got his start through shop classes, welding, and woodworking at Williamsburg High School, graduating with 30 college credits and real-world experience before entering the workforce. Instead of following a traditional college path, he focused on developing practical skills that translate directly to the jobsite.

In construction, success is earned through hard work, continuous learning, and showing up ready to contribute every day. The tools may change, but a strong work ethic never goes out of style.
